A label utterly dedicated to its pursuit of showcasing quality electronic music that consistently, for the best part of 10 years, has stayed true to its roots pushing high-quality electronic music. For his Soft Spot, Giovanni takes us on a trip down memory lane, sharing music from 'London memories' and recounting stories that have stood out along the way. Welcome to the debut of our weekly REC.ROOM LIVE series broadcasting from GigPig Studio, MCR.

First up, GLOCKTA took us on a 2-step tour of his signature lushly-tinted UKG flavour with the captivating vocals to match. Unrivalled head-boppers from the York-born, Manchester based producer.

Taking over from GLOCKTA, Unity Radio resident and an icon in the multi-genre scene of the city, SHADEV kept our toes tapping as she threw down everything from Huerta rollers, Ghoulish riddims and all the house and garage between to piece together the puzzle of a standout debut on REC.ROOM LIVE.

Currently,he is creating music with a deepened approach to his original sounds, which is influenced by music like Dub/Bass Music/Avant-garde HipHop. He also performs mainly his original music.He performs as a DJ and also delivers live sets that incorporate restructured versions of his own works combined with improvisational expression.

He has released music on labels such as "Livity Sound" "ZamZam Sounds" "Saturate Records" and "Deep,Dark&Dangerous" and has also done remixes for many artists including Truth. He has also provided and co-produced music for musicians and video works. With the support of various DJs such as BenUFO, Peverelist, Om Unit, Al Wootton, Youngsta and Hatcha, his music has been played in clubs and DJ mixes around the world, as well as on radio broadcasts such as BBC Radio1 and RinseFM. As a DJ, he has performed both in Japan and abroad, appearing at festivals such as The Star Festival(Japan) and Outlook Festival(Croatia).

Now, returning to his primary @huerco_s handle, the Philadelphia-based shapeshifter records a two-hour mix of rhythmic psychedelia for DJ Mag's Recognise series, and speaks to Michael McKinney about his family ties to the Jersey Devil, growing up in bands, his West Mineral Ltd. label, and learning to slow down.

Originally planned as a series of in-store-style events just as the first waves of lockdown hit, Club Rooted launches as a new podcast series dedicated to non-floor focussed club music. Riding the line between warm-ups, messy after-party sets and the golden era of dubstep, when the dance makes way for something else.

The mix series follows a new wave of labels and artists pushing a non-floor focused sound + tapping into a lineage that can be traced back through various scenes, from recent slow or
kickless techno, abstract UK bass music, to autonomic DnB, knackered house, Detroit Beatdown, & various strands of electronica or IDM.

Club music for listening may be a contradiction in terms, but it’s certainly club rooted.

As The City Rests, a mixtape [February 2021]

Samuel Rohrer, a founding member of the Ambiq trio and founder of Arjunamusic Records, compiled an hour of ambient for Quirk. A Beautiful journey from start to finish.

Rohrer is one of the influential improvisational musicians of his generation and has worked with artists such as Sidsel Endresen, Nan Goldin, Laurie Anderson, Jan Bang, Stian Westerhus, Max Loderbauer, Skuli Sverrisson, Tobias Freund, Ricardo Villalobos, NP Molvaer and Eivind Aarset and many more. As an improvisatory sound pilot, he is able to elegantly navigate beats and anti-beats and expands the world of rhythmic functions with his artistic cross-style overall concept, to include striking emotional components. As a producer, Rohrer is one of those rare alchemical explorers to have truly created a hybrid which is all his own, one that does not just exist to melt distinctions for its own sake, but is a natural result of years of experimentation with both the determination of electronic music and the ludic spirit of ‘free improvisation.
