Love Injection welcomes DJ Jeannie Hopper. Jeannie serves up ‘soulful grooves of all persuasions -Muzik’. Her radio show, along with co-hosts Steve Marshall and Reggie Johnson, is the Liquid Sound Lounge.  Its’ New York City’s longest running radio show dedicated to the funky, groovy, soulful, dance/club underground music scenes and emerging culture, established in 1993. Originating and airing for 25 years on NYC’s Pacifica Radio station WBAI 99.5fm in prime time 7-10pm Saturday nights, the show continues live on multiple streaming platforms. Her house music boat parties are legendary, kicking off in 1999 for 2 decades, and setting a trend for the NYC club scene to follow in hitting the water every summer ever since. Her vinyl centric label, LSL Records, included releases from Groove Collective too Tony Allen. And her spoken vocals have graced releases by Romain & Jon Cutler, Victor Simonelli, Louie Balo, Tedd Patterson and Beat Pharmacy. She’s toured the US, and DJ’ed around the globe including Ibiza, Athens, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Berlin, Vancouver, K.L., Mexico City, Moscow, and more, while holding down a monthly residency in London. She developed and managed the first online all art and culture station for MOMA/PS1 streaming live from NYC, the Venice Biennale, and Art Basel Miami Beach from 2009-2015. She’s currently the radio and podcast producer for The Laura Flanders Show, airing on PBS and community radio stations across the country and as a podcast where you'll find a bonus LSL music-centric spotlight.

Tribute to New York City. 

Saying goodbye to New York was very hard for me. This is undoubtedly a painful process. I went through this when I left my homeland 6 years ago. At first it drains you. Then you take all your hands and gradually fill life with new meaning, because time heals.

On Thanksgiving, I wanted to record something special to express my gratitude to New York, the city that taught me so much and to send a message to all the amazing, kind, responsive and incredibly talented people I met there, to those who became my friends, to everyone who shared a piece of themselves with me. In this music - you, me, all of us. 

I recorded this set on Thanksgiving NIght at Cranes (Restaurant) in Washington DC | November 23rd 2023.

Rustam is well known for his long 6-8 hrs vinyl sets in New York City. He was a resident DJ at Public Records, Virgin Hotel, Ace Hotel NY & Brooklyn, Lilli Star at Moxy Brooklyn Hotel, Izzy Rose, Studio 151, Nublu, Record Room. He also played records at some of the most important NYC venues like Nowadays, Elsewhere, Jupiter Disco, Le Bain, Black Flamingo, Magick City, Milagrosa, Good Bar, including regular DJ sets at Brooklyn Museum and Rockefeller Center.

He is best known for being the founder of Jazzystan Music Festival (this ran from 2009 in Almaty, Kazakhstan) in his home country.
