Pleased to say that this 120 minutes defined a generation. 1999 was such a golden year for Trance music and many people reference this very set as opening their eyes to the power of Trance.

It's hard to believe how groundbreaking and well-polished some of the tunes that I selected and played out, really were!! This mix still sounds timeless judging by today's standards and features tunes from the likes of Tiesto and Ferry Corsten, long before they became household names. It will appeal to all those who love it fresh, raw and pumping!!! Ladies and gentlemen, 20 years ago to this month, I created my second Essential Mix (of four) which was broadcast on BBC Radio 1.

This mix is to showcase how Trance used to sound in the late 1990's early 2000's (fast and full of energy) using current tracks. Our inspiration for putting this mix together came from listening to a classic mix by Swiss DJ 'Timeok' which transported us right back to the time our love for the music started and when we started to learn the art of DJ'ing. Taking further inspiration from leading artists at the time - Paul Van Dyk and Tiesto who played Trance in its purest form, when bpm wasn't a factor, we wanted to deliver a mix which pushed modern day boundaries and prove that the essence of Trance is most definitely alive and that it sounds incredible. Enjoy.

On may 24th 2015 the legendary Club051 closes its doors for the last time before being demolished to make way for student accommodation. 
I will be closing the venue in room 2 playing all my favourite pumping anthems from my years spent on the dance floor in this iconic venue.

A Trance Yearbook of 1999 - Part One

***SCOTT BOND - GATECRASHER 26TH BIRTHDAY - 02-11-2019*** [DOWNLOAD > PLAY > SHARE!!!]

We kickstarted November with the hugely anticipated return to AREA in Sheffield for Gatecrasher's 26th Birthday! An event where the music literally did all the talking!!! An A-Star DJ list with every single DJ playing on top form. When it comes to Gatecrasher, there is always are wonderful emphasis on family and on that night we all came together as one. We all laughed, danced and sang along to a Trance musical escapade under those rainbow assorted lasers.

Being a promoter and DJ, there is always that initial anxiety at the beginning of the night...."How will the night go?????" As you start to loosen up, after seeing the flow of smiling faces enter the club and move around, those hairs on the back of your neck suddenly begin to stand up. 

The next thing you know, you're DJing in front of a packed main dance floor and seeing all those arms raise up when anthems like "Rank 1 - Airwave" and "DJ Tiesto - Lethal Industry" get played. It reaches a crescendo with the grand finale of people singing in tune to my rework of "The Killers - Mr Brightside". That's when you know that you're in for a special night! Gatecrasher truly is the gift that keeps on giving!!

DJ, MC, Songwriter & Lyricist from Newcastle, England.  Resident and regular at most Makina & Hardcore events in the North East over the last 20 years and also performed at numerous events in Scotland, Yorkshire and the North West.

DJing in clubs since 2001.  During the 90s, Rossi was influenced by northern rave DJs such as - Selector C, DJ Charlie, Matrix, DJ Scott, NRG, Reaper, Attack, M-Zone & Mark EG.  
He is a Multiple-Genre DJ that is known for playing - Trance, 90s Eurodance,  Hardcore, Bounce, Makina, Hard Trance and House.

MCing at events since 2003.  Early influences were - Techno T, Stompin, G-Force, Attack, JD Walker, Hype & Jet.  You will usually hear Rossi working with Makina, Hard Trance & Hardcore DJs.  He also writes lyrics and provides vocals for other Producers' tracks.

“I'm very proud to have performed alongside international acts like Lasgo, 2 Unlimited, Maxx, Sash!  Ian Van Dahl, 4Strings, Capella, Maurizio Braccagni, Cocooma, Milk Inc, Alex K, 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor, and many others.  
However, i'm even more proud of the fact that many of the events that i've played at have raised thousands of pounds for charities, helping sick children get vital treatment, Cancer Care & Research, North East Air Ambulance and many others.  DJs, promoters, events and nightclubs can sometimes be given a bad name but i believe they can also do a lot of good.
