This fifth EP in the Steve Rachmad re-issue series contains a colorful combination of three tracks from different releases. Side A brings the sought after track 'Teknitron', originally released on his 3rd EP, originally released under his short-lived alias Black Scorpion back in 1995. 'Transpose' is taken from his first Sterac EP from 1994, while the last tracks 'Alastria' comes from his second album Thera, originally released in 1998. All tracks are re-mastered of course.

Steve Rachmad’s richly melodic strain of techno has resulted in a huge body of work he has been growing since the early 90s. His sound is the perfect distillation of machine soul – dubby atmospherics and crisp, danceable dynamics balanced in perfect unison. Amsterdam’s Delsin Records gathers together some of the Dutch techno figurehead’s most important, sought-after works in a new EP series, all remastered from the original DAT tapes from Steve’s archives. 2529KM Records is a new dub techno label created by two friends and artists – Piotr Bejnar aka N1KT (Warsaw, PL) and Leon Lolishvili aka Boyd Schidt (Tbilisi, GE).

2529 KM stands for the distance between Warsaw and Tbilisi. The idea of the label to release compilations with artists from different countries and nationalities. Through music the label wants to unite different cultures and to create a group of friends all over the world, who support themselves in music and life.

The first release 2529KM 001 is the compilation from Idealist (Switzerland) - producer, DJ and label owner of Idealistmusic, Stojche (Macedonia) - Berlin-based artist who’s primarily inspired of the local electronic scene in Skopje, Boyd Schidt (Georgia) - one of the leading techno artists in Georgia, founder of 2529KM and N1KT (Poland) – new techno alias from the owner of 2529 KM and Otake Records.

This EP was created as a dedication to water. We believe water is life and want to honor the water not only as a gift and birth right, but also as a medicine. We pray that all future generations can have clean water, that we could take care of all the waters of the world; the rivers, the oceans, the lakes, and that we could learn to take care of the water inside of us. 

This EP was inspired by a show that I created honoring water for a musical residency in Mykonos, Greece where I was surrounded by water daily. We would sing and play water songs before an altar that honored the water and finish our show by offering the water from the altar back to the ocean. 

Thank you for listening and supporting this mission of wellness and consciousness for our beautiful and sacred Mother Earth and her waters.

‘New Atlantis’, @Efdemin aka Phillip Sollmann's 4th album, oscillates between fast, kaleidoscopic techno, multilayered drones and acoustic instrumentation, fusing for the first time Sollmann’s deep dancefloor productions as Efdemin with his sound art and avant-garde music projects. The latter include 2017’s Harry Partch-inspired ‘Monophonie’ performance and 2018’s ‘Panama / Suez’ EP with Oren Ambarchi and Konrad Sprenger.

Sollmann took inspiration for ‘New Atlantis’ from Francis Bacon’s unfinished 17th century novel of the same name, which describes a fictional island devoted to social progress through the synthesis of art, science, technology and fashion. 

Out now: “New Atlantis”, the epic, psychedelic title track off of Efdemin’s upcoming album out February 15 via Ostgut Ton. Across 15 minutes, Efdemin’s experimental spirit is in full swing, with morphing drones/chords generated by a mix of Efdemin’s hurdy-gurdy and drum machines, Konrad Sprenger’s MIDI-controlled Stratocaster, Joachim Schütz’s electric guitar and Nika Son’s synthesizer – recorded live during the quartet’s Tony Conrad tribute concert in Hamburg.
