Acid house legend Suddi Raval returns to Ostrich Recordings with 2 raw cuts of dark Electro in his signature sound-

Thermal Detonator is a track full of movement and nervous energy. The drum programming and bass partner up with an eerie arpeggio to create tension throughout the track. Playful acid lines and cheeky sine-wave hooks duck in and out, leaving room for unsettling dark interludes to take your ear away from the surreal acid-trip unfolding around you. Perfect for dark rooms and late night dance floors.

Before Sunrise is a monster track fuelled by lo-fi snappy drums and a dark, brooding bassline; the combination of which is reminiscent of the hard-hitting sounds of industrial electronic music coming from towns like Sheffield in the late 70’s and early 80’s. This dystopian sounding combination, along with the arpeggiated synth hooks, haunting pads and spooky motifs, provide a track full of character that lights us up in all the right ways.

To round off the package label head Kostas G offers up a Breakbeat remix of Thermal Detonator, choosing to base the track around the acid line from the original and the playful sine-wave hook; creating a spine-tingling breakdown around the latter that is perfect for peak time moments whatever the genre.

For our 7th original release we welcome our good friend David Agrella, alongside Kompo on remix duties.

David’s a producer with a fast growing reputation and a label of his own, Agrellomatica. The label’s gathered support from a number of respected DJ’s such as Jane Fitz, Laurent Garnier, Ivan Smagghe, Francesco Farfa, Enzo Siragusa, Moxie, Ciel, Massimiliano Pagliara and we’re pleased to welcome him on Seven Hills.

The Kom Dansen EP is one of David’s darker EP’s, blending together thick growling basslines and atmospheric, psychedelic textures. 4 tracks made purely for the dancefloor, all driven by a phat 909 kick, this is music for late night sessions.

Deseo drives through twists and turns with a grooving bass, precise funky drum patterns, and a vocal recorded by the man himself. Kom Dansen hits you with a huge belly bassline, while taking you on a trip on the night train, deep into the wormhole, with an ever building momentum.

Sabotage Signals is similarly growling and deep, with spooked out synth sounds, and unsettling pad action, while Kompo’s version strips everything back, and switches up the bassline into a real wrist snapper.

Next up on Ostrich we have London based producer Modes with his debut release; Follow Me. Forging his own path rather than follow genres or trends, his productions take influence from Bass Music, 2-Step, DnB & Breakbeat - and it was the authenticity in his sound that first caught my attention.

The title track Follow Me is a club track full of choppy beats and bass, offset by delicate chord stabs and trippy vocal samples. Spectrum Mind takes things a little deeper. Mellow pads and synth tones dance around over broken beats creating an infectious groove. It’s a pleasure to host Mode’s music on Ostrich and we welcome you to dive in and take a listen.
