Amniote Editions team up with friends and bbs of Mala Junta for “The Collective Capsule” - a celebration of 5 years of Berlin's favorite queer event. The capsule collection consists of a 12” cordially made up of 4 belters from the residents Hyperaktivist, Yazzus, DJ Tool and D.Dan, two compilations stacked with friends and lovers and limited merch. 

The capsule also launches Amniote Editions’ return to graphic design studio Alexis Mark, who were part of the birthing of the platform and now presents their first cover design as a multilayer 12” gift - a record wrapped in a beautiful poster protected by a limited edition screen printed PVC sleeve.

The Collective capsule emerges on Amniote Editions on 16th June with vinyl and digital via our Bandcamp and distribution through Triple Vision.

Deets her journey with music started as soon as she entered this world by having a family with musicians and dancers. It was no surprise that she indulged into making music and dancing herself early on. After a classical training in piano of 10 years and some brief introductions to other instruments she fell in love with electronic music and its culture. This love and the everlasting urge to have a (creative) outlet led her to starting DJ-ing just before the lockdowns in 2020. 

Now, Deets has wrapped her hands around several residencies (OOST, Ongehoord, Relate Radio) in Groningen. She also works from the background within a few organizations to give back to the community and help (beginning) artists and organizers get the best out of themselves. 
Having gigs at renowned venues and organizations such as Thuishaven, VISION Recordings, Paradigm and BASIS, Deets is putting herself on the Dutch map with her distinguished sound and approach to DJ-ing.

Within Deets her sets anything goes, as long as it's groovy, bassy, ravey or all of the above. Her track selections show influences by (underground) house, techno and various forms of bass music, as well as her raising with 80's electro, funk, dem bow and dance hall. Her sets are characterized by blending together contrasting structures such as accessible and experimental as well as electronic and organic elements and old versus new.

Trailblazer Blue Hour, alongside label boss, Dold, continues to expand the Arsenik imprint with a quartet of failsafe dance floor heaters. The release pushes innovative sounds for the Sweden-based label, spanning dub-soaked and dreamy house to the echoes of early rave and obscure techno.

Continuing our summer frenzy, we have Loose-E stepping up with an hour of straight heat. Originally from North Cork he has since relocated to our home base of Vancouver, stepping up his game significantly along the way. 

With only three or four years of DJ and production experience, his mixing skills and production efforts sound far greater, reflecting that of a seasoned veteran. Influenced by hardgroove masters of the 90’s/00’s, his music provides the essence of that era with a contemporary retouch. 

This can be heard through his releases on Conceptual Formula, Pvndv and collaborative efforts with The Sixth Sense on his imprint Akashic. With a consistent line of self-released output too, this individual is not to be underestimated.

Here's the recording of my openingset before Danielle and Christian Thomas at OOST main room 1/6/2024. Picture a cosy, smokey club setting with a soundsystem on mode "sturdy" and bass that goes brrr from the start of the club night 😮‍💨. The first part is rather mellow with atmospheric and downtempo soundscapes to welcome the crowd warmly, after which the set gradually transforms into more uplifting and driving stuff, while matching Danielle and Christian Thomas their eclectic bassy techno-y housey sounds for a cohesive experience throughout the night.

Deets is known for providing an easy-grooving, ego-dissolving yet grounding experience since she began DJ-ing as a coping mechanism during the lockdowns. She navigates genres like techno, bass, and house with finesse, always adjusting to the setting and mood to leave a lasting impact on the crowd.

Working like a 'painter of time and space' aiming to move both the human psyche and the body, she blends contrasting elements into one musical journey with her signature explosive yet polished style of layered mixing as her brush.

For Deets, a perfect opening set feels like an embrace upon entering the room, slowly transforming into an energizer. It offers a hint of what's to come, creating excitement for the rest of the event while allowing the audience to enjoy the current moment. If the set is a coherent yet surprising and easily flowing journey that fits well into the bigger picture of the night, she believes it can captivate the audience from the beginning and keep them dancing until their legs feel like cooked spaghetti.
