Volume 1 of Planetary Assault Systems ʻDeep Heetʼ, released in March 2006, signaled the return of Planetary Assault Systems after a 5-year hiatus. The release of this second volume, exactly 5 years later to the day, marks the culmination of Slaterʼs Planetary Assault Systems tour that began in 2009 with the release of the ʻTemporary Suspensionʼ album on Berlin label Ostgut Ton.

Comprising three state-of-the-art expeditions into deep space techno, Deep Heet Vol. 2 takes techno back to its primitive roots, adding details inspired by yet-to- be-explored points in the galaxy; only visible from Slaterʼs Spacestation Ø UK studio.
Sucktion opens the EP in glorious style. The basis being a powerfully hypnotic groove, the track evolves steadily, drawing the listener in completely before revealing its subtle, beautifully powerful, harmonic breakdown.

Mechanical and tense, Pow Wow combines the sonic dynamism of hollow reverberating rhythms with oscillating melodic loops which together create a tightly woven groove that ultimately implodes into a shrill explosion of frequencies.

Raid closes out the EP with its shimmering minimalism crafting a calm contrast to the rest of the EP. Pulsing melodies and echoing chimes attract the focus while a heavy flat kick and spurts of firing hats add the necessary dancefloor momentum.

SOPTIK is proud to present the third installment of our Selected Tracks compilation series, featuring familiar and new faces for the groove scene. With a focus on providing essential tools for DJs, Selected Tracks: Three offers a collection of tracks that are sure to get any dancefloor moving.
 
Kicking things off, Confusion's "Flat FM" sets the tone with a hypnotic groove that builds and builds, creating an irresistible sense of anticipation. Tino Machauer's "Ghost House" follows, with tribal percussion and swirling synths that transports.
 
"Redemption" by Recursion takes things in a darker direction, with an insistent synth line and intricate rolling rhythms that create a sense of urgency. Maasym's "Iridescent Effect" lightens the mood slightly with shimmering melodies and intricate textures that weave in and out of the mix.
 
"Four" by Luxuriate is a standout track, with its pulsing bassline and aggressive drum and percussion patterns that add an otherworldly feel. Finally, Stikdorn's "It's You" brings the compilation to a close with a driving groove leaning on old school, timeless values and atmospheric pads.

Danny Wabbit returns to the forefront with Manic, a carefully crafted five track EP that serves as a visceral journey through the psychological spectrum of the dancefloor.

The EP opens with the unexpected: 'Fear Is Nothing But A Tool', a cinematic dubstep intro to set a dark, preparatory tone. It then ignites with the title track 'Manic', a hypnotic and powerful techno cut built to induce peak-time frenzy.

Stripping techno back to its raw essence, 'Severed' delivers a minimalist homage to the genre's warehouse roots. This raw intensity then gives way to the meditative groove of 'Breath Work', a track centered on calming, pulsating rhythms. The EP closes with the soulful and uplifting vibes of 'That One House Track', the perfect euphoric finale to a long night.
