Like Marty McFly arriving back in 1885 in a rewired Delorean, or one of The Knights Templar supping on the good stuff with our boy Han Solo, never has something so completely merged the old and the new as effectively, or to as much of a delectable effect, as Scour Records’ new found superhero Beat Le Juice.

So Much Style hosts melodies that breathe and stop so organically you could be tempted to check for a pulse, samples cut so clean you might, if you didn’t know better, think the segments were recorded specifically for this release, and acapellas that fit so perfectly you’ll find yourself humming along for days.

Drawing on a diverse range of inspiration, from James Brown and Prince to Griz and K+Lab, his debut EP seamlessly blends numerous genres including Hip Hop, Funk and Glitch in a way that oozes familiarity, all tied together by top-notch modern production techniques to deliver his refreshingly juicy retro sound.

Kibosh makes a welcome return to Bombstrikes with two tracks that simply ooze with the funk. As always, the Aussie funk maestro has delivered the goods in his own inimitable style, keeping musicality high on the agenda whilst at the same time making things sound simple, which is no mean feat. First up 'Loopback' places horn stabs and vocals from Canadian legend Timothy Wisdom over funk guitar riffs and swinging bass grooves to pull the listener in, while the second track 'Fire' delivers a P-Funk-esque bass workout alongside elements of Jazz to devastating effect. Two tracks that walk the line between bass heavy goodness and funk perfectly and all done with a touch of class.
