Fides Records continues its 10-year anniversary with the second chapter X2 following the monumental 10Y OF FIDES: Mixed by Z.I.P.P.O. True to the label’s decade-long pursuit of underground sound and vision, this new instalment deepens the narrative with six striking contributions that embody the raw, hypnotic, and modular essence of the Fides universe.

The A-side opens with Setaoc Mass’s “Quanta” a stripped down, mental techno piece driven by tension and precision. Seddig follows with “Seismic” an intense, driving composition marked by rugged modular energy and deep rhythmic focus, while Casual Treatment’s “Hoover” injects elasticity and bounce through detailed sound design rooted in French minimalism.

Flipping to Side B, Holden Federico’s “Tactics” timeless track based on a 909 framework and a melodic core that balances power and elegance. Augusto Taito’s “No Eye Contact” unfolds as an immersive, restrained groove while Asymptote’s “Encounters” closes the record with cinematic precision, a contemplative yet physical finale true to the Fides aesthetic.

From the shadowed dancefloors of Amsterdam comes mayo, the goth house queen, twisting her sound into something darker and funkier. Stripping it down, a minimalist machine of tension and release — basslines snapping, original vocals echoing into percussive shapes, and synths bending into warp zones.

It’s electronic funk at its most skeletal and seductive: lean, twisted grooves that hypnotize as much as they bombard your soul.

Equal parts underground ritual and late-night seduction, the tracks carve out a soundscape where house collapses into post-punk swagger, and funk mutates into something cold, magnetic, and utterly addictive.

Born into an Italian family, Onirik has spent most of his life in Brussels, London and now Berlin. This mix of identities also translates into the multiple musical influences and directions he tries to incorporate into his musical endeavours, never following the linearity of a single genre, but rather trying to convey a vibe that spans multiple musical vessels, from abstract leftfield to EBM, via house, techno or electro. With more than 15 years of experience as a DJ, label manager and producer, Onirik's attention is focused on his own label Garage Hermétique, on which he has released music, as well as the collaborative project Oni-Ki; running Off The Grid, one of the most innovative underground music hubs, in the form of a boutique distribution, shop and label; and the Karnak On Acid project.

Mayo is a project shaped by the sounds I grew up with and the music I listen to today, connecting past influences with a forward-looking approach to sound. Raised in a house filled with disco, funk, jazz, house, and electronic music, I was constantly surrounded by records, radio, and long listening sessions. Learning drums, piano, and sax at a young age sparked my desire to create, and by 13 I was producing my own music. A few years later, I began DJing at local parties and gatherings, and I haven’t stopped since.

Benedikt Frey is a composer, DJ, and live act whose work moves fluidly across house, techno, downbeat, ambient, and experimental electronics. Based in Berlin, his sound has evolved beyond its early house roots into an open, forward-looking musical language.
Active for over a decade, he releases music on his own labels R.i.O. and Serious Trouble, as well as on imprints like ESP Institute, Hivern Discs, Malka Tuti, and Emotional Response, performing everywhere from intimate spaces to major clubs and festivals.
