The two brothers had spent the day exploring the beach in Zeeland, enjoying the quiet rhythm of the sea and the cool breeze that swept across the sand. The older brother wandered further ahead, collecting seashells and staring out over the horizon, while the younger one lingered by the water’s edge. It was then that something caught his eye—off to the side, a stone was balancing delicately atop another, perfectly still. He had never seen anything like it before, and it seemed almost magical, like the rocks had found a way to defy gravity.

He called out, “Look at this!” and the older brother came over, his curiosity piqued.

"How’s it staying like that?" the older brother asked, crouching down to inspect it.

The younger one, excited, picked up a rock and tried to mimic the balance. His first attempt failed—the rock tumbled off as soon as he set it down. He tried again, this time with a bigger stone, but it fell even faster.

“It’s harder than it looks,” he muttered, a bit frustrated but undeterred.

The older brother, after watching him for a while, crouched down beside him and said, “It’s all about patience and the right balance. You have to feel it.”

The younger one nodded and tried once more, this time listening to the calm rhythm of the waves, focusing on the weight of each stone, and carefully adjusting the tilt. Gradually, the rocks began to stay in place, one on top of the other, slowly taking shape.

With each new stone, the structure grew, until finally, they had created a circle of balanced rocks—a simple, delicate ring, standing strong against the wind and the sea.

“That looks good,” the older brother said, standing back and admiring the work.

The younger brother smiled, feeling a quiet sense of pride. “Yeah, we did it.”

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows on the sand, the two brothers stood for a moment in silence, their circle of stones marking a quiet victory. The world was vast, the ocean endless, but in that small, balanced ring, they found a perfect moment of peace.
