BIO:
Luke Shirwin is a young and aspiring producer and DJ based in Berlin. His love for electronic music started when he discovered ethereal techno, a genre created by Steyoyoke Recordings, which Luke has been following and admiring since the beginning. Currently he is creating weekly sets in his Transmissions Series, where he covers a broad range of subgenres from melodic techno, deep house to progressive house and more. Besides Djing, he is working on own productions as well, which focus on dark and atmospheric sounds a lot, influenced by some of his favourite artists like Nick Devon and Binaryh, among others. Random Numbers is proud to present its newest V.A. release, the most ambitious to date, which sees the contributions of 16 producers close to the label and kindred to the sonic quest Random Numbers has been pursuing since 2015. 

“Second Wave” is the organic continuation of the journey initiated with the V.A. Parallel Routes, released at the beginning of the 2020 lockdown.

This collection of 12 tracks - like the 12 months that have just passed, delivers a multi-faceted testimony of our experience with the pandemic, translating feelings of absence, desire and necessity into a mind-bending sound exploration.

Despite crossing a wide range of tempos and genres, a common thread is found in the mystic, trippy and ritualistic atmospheres that populate this release. The metamorphic nature of each track continuously surprises the ears, blurring the boundaries between heady listening experience and dance floor bliss.

Lithuanian John Patter lands on Melomana Records, announcing the summer season in a big way, with the Cuatro Lados EP, an album made up of cuts that take us into a world of lush, unhinged, frenetic and lysergic sounds, where nothing seems innocent.

The theme “Yallah”, opens up a progressive piece, which invites us to explore an ambiguous and mysterious world, in which liquid and bubbly environments with many dark ideas that eagerly seek to renew the language of techno from the dark side. “Distress The Sorrow”, arpeggiated techno, with a soft and captivating luminosity, where the linearity in the development of the discourse takes on special importance, thus communicating a strange feeling of eternal dawn. In “Obsidian”, Patter has managed to refine, refine and further his musical concept, drawn up based on forceful and aggressive percussions that are modulated with grotesque and psychedelic samplers, like dictations from abyssal depths, exploring a terrain that it seems that few are already inhabiting. Finally, The Awakening, this work is accentuated with a more raw percussion and a powerful bassline, which transports us as if we were at the gallop of a horse that advances feverishly in the depth of the night.
