Make amazing friends and resist the urge to categorize everything. Respect all and give back to your mentors. 
Be present and reach out for help if you feel like it— it’s the only way for us to grow and learn something new.

Advice for the DJs, producers and artists of our community: Be the queer elder to others that you wish you got to have. Don't let cis people turn you into a promotional tactic. Unlearn everything. Prepare to be disappointed by the musical landscape & larger scene you find yourself in but convince yourself there is hope around the corner. Remember that it is our duty to constantly brainstorm how to uplift people of color and queer people through what we do and to wrench control from the men and women who have positioned themselves as tastemakers but lack the human empathy at the core of this music. Listen to your community. Ask yourself what community means. Do your best to transform the bitterness and isolation into celebration.
