Aztronouth (also known as Oortfunk) is an electronic music artist and DJ from the Netherlands, active for more than 20 years. He is the founder of Mechanism, a long-running Amsterdam event series dedicated to Detroit techno and electro.

As Aztronouth, he produces futuristic electro and techno, while under his alias Oortfunk he explores downtempo synth-funk and experimental sounds. His music reflects strong influences from hip-hop, disco, Detroit techno, and hi-tek soul, blending them into a distinctive style.

He is part of Waveform Syndicate [LIVE] (with Luus and Machinefunk) and has released music on respected labels such as CyberDomain, Boomstraat1818, Connectome Records, Abstract Rhythm, and Space Is The Place. Notable releases include the Aztroverse EP (CyberDomain, 2025) and Durgan’s Odyssey (Boomstraat1818).

This release has been a long time coming. For years, I’ve been extremely apprehensive about sharing it—because it’s deeply personal. Each track is a reflection of my journey as a producer, documenting the mental health rollercoaster I’ve been navigating for a long time.

The EP represents a time where I felt extremely stagnant. It is a true reflection of who I am.

Music has always been my emotional diary—a medium I use to express what I struggle to say out loud. Robotic Development is that diary: raw, imperfect, and honest.

To accompany the release, I have wrote a short poem that captures the nuance of my emotions during this period of vulnerability:

Existence of a future that is relatively unknown.
Inside your brain, an emerging force—needing to be overthrown.
Parasites feeding on the mind, demanding to be left alone.
Imbued by electronics, causing havoc as they roam.
