Dystopia is an audiovisual project which guides us through obscure and hypnotic landscapes.
The dub/techno rhythmical weaving of Massimiliano Gusmini (Mud) unfolds in an ambient/noise atmosphere, generated  through self-built instruments (Lumanoise) and combined with cracking e fluorecent lights by Luca Pertegato (Xo00).
The visual project explores natural and urban astral territories in a constant mutation towards some kind of organic matter  and constantly enveloped in a mesmeric “orbitating nebula”.

Dystopia è un progetto audiovisivo che ci accompagna in paesaggi oscuri e ipnotici.
Sulle tessiture ritmiche dub/techno di Massimiliano Gusmini (Mud) si sviluppano le atmosfere ambient/noise,  generate da strumenti auto costruiti (Lumanoise) e suonati con luci crepitanti e fluorescenti da Luca Pertegato (Xo00).
Il progetto visivo esplora territori satellitari naturali/urbani in continua mutazione verso una sorta di materia organica  e costantemente avvolti da una ‘nebulosa orbitante’ ipnotica.

Producer, musician, DJ, photographer, Brando Lupi’s influences range anywhere from post industrial-rock, experimental electronic to modern classical. The Italian native has had a history working alongside a number of talented artists.
Brando’s releases have been picked up by the likes of Orange Groove , Kompakt , Samuvar , Dewtone Recordings , Mental Groove , Detune Records and Elettronica Romana. He has recently composed a score for the movie “La Solitudine Dei Numeri Primi”, distributed by Medusa,with the soundtrack signed by Mike Patton ,leader of Faith No More,and presented at the 67th Venice Film Festival. He currently resides in Rome, spreading experimental spiritual frequencies across the world.

Presentato a Venezia nel 2014 da Fondazione Prada, il progetto esplorava le relazioni tra arte e suono e la loro evoluzione dal 16° secolo a oggi. “Art or Sound” analizzava, in particolare, gli aspetti iconici degli strumenti musicali, il ruolo dell’artista-musicista e le aree di compenetrazione fra arti visive e musica.

Otolab was founded in 2001 in Milan by an affinity group of musicians, djs, vjs,
videoartists, videomakers, web designers, graphic designers and architects joined to go through a common path in the field of the electronic music and audiovisual research.
The projects are developed through lab sessions, seminars and live performance
according to the principles of brainstorming and mutual support, free circulation of knowledge and experimentation.
The production includes collective and individual projects managed with languages ranging from experimental electronics to techno, dub and industrial sonorities, always looking for a symbiotic relationship with image and video.
Otolab is a cultural association committed to create live media and installations and to carry out audio and audiovisual projects, seminars and workshops.
In these years, Otolab members have been welcomed to festivals, cultural events, museums, national and international galleries and have contributed to the realization of self-managed cultural initiatives.
