Abandoned Places

'Oceanside' is an uplifting  indie folk song that was sonically inspired by the sounds of Vance Joy, Hollow Coves Noah Kahan, and lyrically by Ernest Hemingway's novel 'The Old Man and the Sea. Growing up in the Australian countryside in a little town near Tamworth, Rod always romanticised living in a house by the ocean and revolving a life around the tides. The narrative of the song follows this premise and the feelings associated with this journey. 

Produced by Garrett Kato(Julia Stone, Tones & I, Lawson Hull, Riley Pearce, Ziggy Alberts) and co-written with Hein Cooper, 'Oceanside' is the first single of Rod's upcoming EP 'Where Rivers Meet the Sea' that has recorded from Byron Bay, Central Coast to Ulladulla collaborating with several producers.

The song is an apology letter to a friend, reminiscing upon some of the moments and words that were once shared between us. It opens up a conversation about what I could have done differently now that I'm looking back. I guess it's a song about growth, and taking stock of where I've been and where I'm going.

Otto (aka Christian Punter) is a solo artist from South Wales. Gaining the support of BBC Radio 1, 2 & Wales. Championed by Multi award winning producer & songwriter Dave Stewart, Mr. Stewart signed him to his label Bay Street Records and Otto worked with Dave on his Debut LP "Persona".

Supporting and sharing the stage with industry icons like Sir Tom Jones, James Bay, The Kooks & Jake Bugg. His live set mirrors his fantastically larger than life & cinematic sound.
