This is very different type of mix from me, inspired by living in Dahab the last year and a half. I aimed to capture the emotion of this place. The essence of daily life. The subtle majesty of the mountains in St Katherine. The expansive spirit within the desert valleys. The serenity of the sea. Slow life, connected to nature and the deeply-rooted spirit of Sinai. This mix is the essence of a journey from the water to the wadi and back again.

Dahab Days

Whatever Machinery We Carry Inside Us, soundcloud.com/mcthfg's new EP, is inspired by a line from the Iain M. Banks book "Use of Weapons". For Chris, science fiction and dub are natural allies, as both seem to come from the future whilst looking back at the past. Plus, as he sees it, "good music, and good fiction, cause us to see many sides, many angles, and to understand that the truth of a matter is often far more complex than the surface view we casually observe."

The EP finds him further developing his style crafting intricate electronica full of woozy melodies, crunchy beats and pulsating bass. The mysteriously numbered tracks confound genres, but, if pushed, 2544 could be described as mutant lounge at it's finest, like Thievery Corporation on mushrooms. 21122, on the other hand, is designed to test that your subs are still functioning!
