Techno's Outer Limits - July 2016

If you are into techno, Svreca needs no introduction. This Spanish DJ and producer has been travelling around the world for a while and his label Semántica has earned its place amongst the best cult labels thanks to their support of the vinyl format and investment on incredible artworks. They also have one of the best artists rosters.

Oscar Mulero has released some tracks on Semántica and now it’s time for Semántica's boss to release in Warm up... So we are really excited about this!

This release comes in two versions: a four-track EP and a six-track digital release with two bonus edits by Oscar Mulero.

"Disorder" opens side A. A bleepy, repetitive exercise, with a solid kick and extra high-frequency analogue percussions and sweeps.

Oscar Mulero’s version follows as track A2, adding more pressure to the rhythm, more atmospheres and some FM synth details, while preserving the original bleep.

The B side starts with " Övergång ". Once again, an obsessing high-pitched sequence as the absolute star, plus Svreca’s traditionally insane high frequency noises, a concrete kick and repetition as a formula.

OM's version of " Övergång ": more complex than the original, with 909 hats, more synth lines, extra bleeps and a dynamic and constantly changing arrangement.

The digital version is completed with two extra versions of " Övergång ": by Oscar Mulero. The first one, on a more straight techno vibe and trademark sound. The second one has a more mental approach.

We're very happy to finally share with you our first release of 2016 as we bring our second Italian artist onto EarToGround. 

'Ness' also known as Andrea Deplano first caught our attention with his seminal track 'Neuronic' with came out late 2014 on Pole Group. Soon after work started on a full Ep for EarToGround. 

Tracks included have been specially made for the release and each individually display his excellent dynamic range, sound design and unique take on Techno. 

It has has been tried and tested in the best situations possible with excellent crowd response throughout. You will find a place in a set for all the tracks inside.

Being played and supported by the likes of: Marcel Dettmann, Answer Code Request, DVS1, Dax J, Boris, Stephanie Sykes, Gareth Wild, Chris Stanford, Pfirter, Emmanuel, Ben Sims, Truncate, Etapp Kyle, Sigha and Peter Van Hoesen...

Dreiklang Records set sail in February 2016 with the excellent First Contact EP which featured OCH, Hydergine and Kelovolt, three singular artists each handing in their own contrasting take on the same source material. The Berlin-based vinyl-only label now returns with the same concept for the Loop Continue EP. For their second release Dreiklang call upon three strong figures of the techno scene, each displaying a highly distinct voice in keeping with the triangular concept of the label: Scottish veteran Edit Select and Italian purveyors of everything dark and deep, Dino Sabatini and Claudio PRC.

The three tracker kicks off with the deep sub-aquatic sounds of Tony Scott aka Edit Select, who produces the original version of Loop Continue, an introspective DJ tool. The Scottish producer goes straight to the point from the very start with a dusky loop that is slowly overcome by a glistening, luxuriant drone.

Claudio PRC hands in a stunning rework. A hypnotizing bass drives the track forward while tranquil chords ease in and out of focus.

Finally, Dino Sabatini, a regular collaborator of Edit Select, drops in fresh from the release of his Omonimo LP. The Outis Music boss closes the EP on a dreamy piece of broken-beat where beautiful glowing drones command attention.

Loop Continue is set for vinyl-only release June 14th on Dreiklang. The records will come as a 180g vinyl with handmade covers by Nils Atland, limited to 500 pieces.

DSC is enjoying its most productive year to date, and its not even half way through. Cliche Morph is a mysterious new entity, debuting with Liquid Materia. The title track melts streams of melody, chords dissolve in currents as a steady thump tries to tame the sonorous swash. Claudio PRC, of Prologue fame, interprets the tides of the original. Aquatic ambience floods speaker as sounds are kept below the waves in a dream state. “Impulse Inside Mechanism” pulls you further into the haunted machinery of Cliche Morph. Wraithlike harmonies ache, ghosting between steady percussion for a work of palpable emotion. That tactile quality comes to the fore with “Alternative Solution.” Rhythms are given extra girth, bass lines given extra room as strings swim before they soar.

Hd Substance returns to our label with this three tracker plus a stomping Joton Remix. Release starts with Clock, an old school exercise made with old Roland machines and recorded live in one take, 808 on the drums, Juno 6 on the chords, Sh 101 on the synth lines. 
Old Europe follows, funked up chord progressions, shuffled sub bass and stacatto sequences floating randomly over the groove. 
Joton rebuilds Old Europe on the third track, beefing the kick, distorting the feel and looping the arrangement in a proper tooly exercise. 
Closing the release The Box is a nineties infused track, with a 303 flying over a constantly moving arrangement, spiced with classic Roland drums and analogue synth lines.

Volpe is a young artist from Argentina inspired by the sounds of the ‘90s, moving between genres such as Detroit Techno, Dub Techno and Power House.
His career began at the early age of 16, in the national underground scene, which would later lead him to play in renowned venues like Under Club, Cocoliche and Bahrein, sharing gigs with Tadeo, Jonas Kopp, Seph, Andres Zacco, Julixo/AWDHA, Dying & Barakat, Vladw and many others.
He managed to edit several of his productions on labels such as Subsist, Fabrik Music, Concepto Hipnotico, Utopica Vision, Detox Electronics, Classic Airlines and Sub:Circles.
Now he is focused on his live presentations, in which he opted for the hardware format, providing an organic and powerfull sound to his performance.
