Back in Paris after six intense years in West Africa, the little genius of afrotech-house returns with 10 intense tracks and the best musicians to join him in african studio session (Mali, Burkina and Côte D'ivoire): Lansiné Kouyaté, Innocent Kimpe and the fabulous singer jahelle on his new album "Balani Factory", released on April 12 on Blanc Manioc (distributed by Baco - Idol).
Reflections of his travels, reflections of his imaginations, and tutelary figures, our favorite bagpacker takes a little more the road of the African western with his synthesizers as his only compass. The common thread that quickly becomes apparent is an instrument that has spanned the centuries: the balafon, and the story of the mysterious singer with the tragic destiny of "Zélé de Papara"!
Together with singer Jahelle, they pay her an emotionnal tribute on the eponymous track.
After listening to this single, released at the beginning of the year, the famous DJ and producer PALMS TRAX joined Praktika and took over the tracks for a remix, an 8-minute epic in the pure house tradition, with transcendental harmonic progression and evolving rhythm.

One day back in end of the Eighties, a pair of friends began sharing a deep love for music, the music we have been supporting, playing and now, able to put it out for your listening pleasure: ‘Mind Merge LP’ is a beautiful quintessence of Detroit electro, funk and techno, partially blending with contemporary electronic contaminations and we believe it’ll be as timeless as many of their records before. 

You can stream the album title track ‘Mind Merge’ above. It keeps evolving into a momentum through animated, bright tones, joining to always changing major-minor brass, and always opening and closing cut-offs – the whole album story is just outstanding to us, we look forward it to be out!

Kid Drama’s debut Metalheadz release is one that is set to shake up this 4-year-old alias as he heads in a direction that’s slightly more focused on the dancefloor, whilst managing to subtly retain some of the elements that have seen him become so loved in the deeper and more experimental side of drum and bass.

The ‘Trife EP’ proves how much of a talent Kid Drama is, from the savage bassline in ‘Brutal D’ to the late 90s techstep vibes of ‘Articulation’ all the way to ‘Payback’, which is a track that could have easily come out under his and Boddika’s Instra:mental moniker.

This is an extremely well-rounded project and one we’re delighted to be releasing on Metalheadz.
