Peetu S - Halloween 2022 Mix

To celebrate both Kriess’s 25th anniversary of his journey in DJ’ing and his latest release on Outburst, ‘In The Place’, he has put together this special showcase mix for us.

As you may have noticed from his productions over the years, the spirit of the early rave days still resonates strongly with him, an era when dance music had less rules and genres didn’t have such a hold on the DJ scene.

Also in the past few years it’s been clear that the sounds of techno and trance have been coming back closer together once again. Kriess has taken this and incorporated his love for both genres into creating his energetic style, which can switch from one to another, to tell a story and to keep the listener guessing.

In this mix you’ll find a selection of Kriess’s favourite productions of his, from his Prodigy reworks to his releases on a variety of the scenes leading labels, including plenty of his Outburst output. Alongside them you’ll hear an assortment of techno and tech trance, all tracks that fit within his current sound, plus some classics that are dear to him to close out with.

Kriess Guyte - 25th Anniversary Showcase Mix

Mark’s collab with Clare Stagg ‘How Can I’ was our 2nd release on Outburst back in August 2014 and with only one mix of it being released so far, we felt that it was time to re-boot the project for 2015 and give you some alternative vibes to play (and hear) out in the clubs! Armada favourites Solis & Sean Truby deliver a slightly slower but real power-house of a remix, that has a totally different approach to the Original Mix with new chords, new lead riff and a great overall huge sound. Fellow Scotsman Nick Callaghan also delivers his interpretation, which is in a true ‘tech-trance’ sound that is heavily influenced by some of the much loved classic Tiesto and E-Craig productions from yester-year. There is definitely a mix for you here so make sure and check them both out!

Adam burst his way onto the Outburst Records roster 2 months ago with his debut track for us ‘Babadook’! Now he is back to follow it up in style, nice and quickly, with this very energetic and severely banging yet uplifting monster trancer ‘Culture Vulture’! The lead riff is one of the catchiest we’ve heard this year and we defy you not to be humming it for days after you hear it for the first time. Wonder-kid Mexican producer Vlind is on remix duties for this release. What started out as a bootleg/rework of the 1994 underground acid anthem ‘Acid Air Raid’ by  Solar Quest (aka George Saunders), it now finally (and officially) sees the light of day! After almost 18 months of searching for the original artist online, a lot of email discussions and locking down a contract, we now have Scot Project & Mark Sherry’s first ever collab! If you don’t know what a Roland TB-303 is then you’re in for a real shock when you hear this. The vintage acid creating synth has it’s cut-off, resonance and modulation levels set to ‘stun’ as it completely oozes it’s toxic acid onto the dancefloor. It has been tried and tested globally at all of Mark & Scot’s gigs over the last 18 months and with both artists providing their own different slant of the track, we feel that there is a mix here for everyone. We delve deep into the trance classics archive to dust off and revive this timeless beauty from Sunscreem. ‘Please Save Me’ was originally released in 2002 on Bonzai UK as a collaboration with the Belgian legend Push (M.I.K.E.). James Dymond stirs up a thick melting pot of incredibly intricate psy beats, intense rhythms and glitched vocals to boot - but with a surprisingly uplifting breakdown, it will tug at even the most stubborn of heart strings. Next up is Tasso (aka Dean Badger) who stays a bit more faithful to the original mix but has added more than enough new elements and energy to give us a totally fresh sounding alternative. Mark puts his own grizzly tech stamp all over it with tight & crispy percussion, detuned and twisted saw leads whilst retaining that all important classic distorted acidic drop. Stephen's remix is one of those special productions that would fit into a techno set every bit as easily as a trance set. They both flip the track on it's head and pump up the production 2017 style! Mark debuted Paul’s remix at Dreamstate in LA last November and it completely tore the roof off. Maarten De Jong is one of the few producers that has always stuck to his guns when it comes to genres! Tech-trance has always been his speciality and this trend continues on Outburst. This is another bomb from Maarten, hugeness!!

The tech-trance tyrant that is Tempo Giusto returns with his darker side on Twilight with a brand new beast called ‘Automatika’.  In true Tempo fashion he has all the key trance ingredients in place that will make a full dancefloor totally lose themselves ‘in the moment’, but also a strong flavouring of ‘psy’ energy that will hit hard and punch exactly where it hurts. This is a head-down-no-nonsense dark and serious banger from Tuomas, an essential Twilight release!

Tempo Giusto - Automatika [Outburst Twilight]

Ikorus’s new single ‘Suplex’ was an exclusive track on Mark’s #PrismVolume2 compilation and now gets its hotly anticipated full release! The man from down under is back with more techy nourishment for your hungry pallet and this feast of aural delights will not disappoint. The wrestling move ‘suplex’ means to literally knock your opponent flat on his back and as the name suggests this fine piece of audio will have the exact same effect on the clubbers that are on your dancefloors. Wrestle-mania has absolutely nothing on this artist, go knock yourself out!

We kick off the proceedings with one of our album favourites ‘Head On’. This is a seriously relentless acidic banger that has enough ‘uplift’ to cause an emotional meltdown in the breakdown and enough ‘acid’ to melt the hardest of cast-iron ravers to their knees! Lostly returns with the 2nd offering taken from his recent ‘Spotlight’ album, we give you ‘Causeway’. Andre has reinvented his sound in the last couple of years by digging deeper than ever into his analogue keyboard collection. This track will subtly remind you of his previous single ‘Nothing Left’ due to its heart-warming synth-lines that will wash over you, before the ultimate tech drop snaps you out of your trance,  causing a nail-biting finale.
