SWART is back on the label. This time with a 4-Track EP filled with 90s/rave inspired sounds. The first track, Enter the void, is a peak time track with breakbeat influences and dark synth sounds. The 2nd track is more progressive / loopy track with sequenced synths, fast hats and a smooth groove.

The title track of the EP, 'Bangare Raba' is a hard hitting percussive track with a pounding kick that will destroy the dancefloor. The last track is another high energy, peak time track. Hard drums, dirty acid synth sounds, some breaks here and there, overall a real Hip Breaker!

Intrepid Skin returns with its most outspoken, outlandish release yet. SPFDJ’s tastemaking imprint is proud to introduce ‘Glitzer Vs Hass’, the debut release from German artist, Valerie Ace. 

Unrelenting but utterly charismatic across four tracks, Ace blends her lived experience intertwined with today’s increasingly complex politics of club culture with a thirst for experimentation, unpicking and subverting the strains of toxic masculinity that still run deep through contemporary culture. This is first-rate dancefloor discourse with little room for chin-stroking.

‘Hyper Hyper Dancy Hardcore’ submits to the ridiculous promise of its title with a breathless finale that showcases Ace’s ability to deliver function and pure fun. Leaving a strong final impression this Rotterdam-rooted hardcore anthem provides all the thrills but thoughtfully dispenses with the macho bullshit, its central vocal constantly shifting in pitch and context. 

Driven by the energy and outrageousness that has come to define her scene, yet smartly subverting and experimenting with it, ‘Glitzer Vs Hass’ sees Valerie Ace enter the contemporary techno landscape with passion, humour and much-needed sonic resistance.

In recent times, it appears that the internet has fueled greater division, leading to increased polarization. This trend has pushed individuals toward virtue signaling, often expressing selective outrage. What is selective outrage? Selective outrage is the tendency of individuals or groups expressing outrage or moral indignation selectively based on personal biases. People may choose to speak out against certain offenses while ignoring or downplaying others that may be equally or even more significant. Selective outrage can manifest in social issues and personal relationships with someone condemning a person for a particular action while excusing similar behavior from a friend. One could argue that selective outrage undermines the credibility of moral or ethical judgments, suggesting that the outrage is motivated more by self-interest and tribalism rather than genuine concern for justice or morality.

Xiorro's latest release, "Selective Outrage," sets the storm of airwaves for Whirlwind Trax’s 2024 release calendar. A release containing 2 tracks that could seamlessly slide into a set to twirl up a dance floor. The titled track, "Selective Outrage," kicks off the release with an explosive blend of drums, thunderous 808 bass, and soul-stirring vocals. Xiorro masterfully crafts an atmosphere of intrigue and intensity, inviting listeners to delve into the complexities of modern society's selective moral compass.

Following suit, "Keep That Same Energy" keeps the momentum soaring with its relentless bass lines and infectious drive. On The World of Monnom Black II, new artists including VTSS, DIMI (AnD), Vladimir Dubyshkin, Hadone, Fractions, LDS, Aahan and Buried Secrets all throw down tracks which fuse tight machine rhythms with intricate detail. There's also a return for many established label favourites such as UVB, Dax J, Zanias and Thomas P. Heckmann as Knarz.

To round out the compilation there’s a re-release of the timeless 1998 cut, “Devious Methods,” from legendary artist Hive, and Tellurian’s hardcore classic, “Big Bad City,” gets a new mix from Dax J.
 
This release further confirms Monnom Black’s reputation for representing raw analogue music and cements the label’s place as the home of some of the roughest and classiest contemporary sounds in techno.

When it comes to Taro Black there is always a healthy injection of rave stylings and label newcomer Rown takes that idea to its logical conclusion and just a little bit further with this killer EP. Hard acid flavoured grooves, industrial clanks, pounding kicks, it's all here and the energy is through the roof. Label boss Taro Division throws his remix through a metallic chamber and turns the distortion right up, whilst recent contributor Balrog returns to the fray with a straight-up pounder.
