This mix is dedicated to all the gorgeous people, open minded musicians and instrument makers, who overwhelmed me with Atai and were willed to teach me something about Gnawa. Not to mention the faboulous record stores in Casablanca, Rabat, Ouazazarte, Marrakesh and those hidden sellers, who suddenly appeared, when i lost my bearings in the Souq.

The mix contains old vinyls and cassettes, which are rounded up with contemporary digital releases and reissues. Pitched down darbouka tapes, traditional orchestra, modern gnawa, fusion, rock, miserable conditioned pop cassettes and some algerian raï. Featuring labels like boussiphone, koutobiaphone, disque gam, casaphone, radio martiko, nabilophone and so on…

"Pol Balam is a project that, like Tepeme Música, is born from the desire to stop being a spectator in the electronic music scene, mostly downtempo with dyes of eclecticism and transculturality.
What I'm looking for with Pol Balam is to share new and old music from many corners of the world, whether for moments of meditation, dancing, relaxation or psychedelic experiences. Music does not need to have a high bpm to achieve these goals, even in many cases the phrase "between slower, better" applies to create atmospheres and mystical experiences through guided tours. 
There is also music that is not exactly electronic but fits very well with it. What I enjoy the most is the diggin' part and playing eclectic sets."
