Outer Dark is a rock band based in Manchester. With key influences ranging from progressive bands such as Mastodon and the Mars Volta, ambient electronic, jazz, and the energetic movements of Spanish guitar. There is a desire within the band to make music that is challenging but a consensus that a large part of such a challenge is to make music that people can enjoy. Outer Dark is an entirely new project although some of the members have been playing together in bands for many years. 

A trio by way of Japan and the UK whose distillation of advanced rhythmic structures, low frequencies and raw human tones stand uniquely at a fascinating sonic crux of leftfield, club and indie juncture.

Martin Corral and Duncan Meadows formed Acrifolia in late 2009. Influenced by genres including ambient, modern-classical and dub the Mancunian duo create atmospheric and emotive music featuring piano, guitar and violin. 

Debut album Lament, released in November 2010, revolves around the theme of a descending musical scale - recalling the work of Avro Part - and explores the feelings of loss and its eventual redemption.

Acrifolia's music, including tracks from an 4-track EP titled Infinite Still (released in May 2010)  has been played in radio programmes around the world. Both 

Lament and Infinite Still attracted thoughtful and passionate reviews.

Meadows is also a member of notable UK electronic act Marconi Union. He has also worked with Italian arranger and trumpet player Giorgio Li Calzi. Acrifolia continue to work on various projects and collaborations.

Acrifolia are planning to perform live and hope to incorporate visual media into their set.
