Outer Circles - A Mix Series of Outer Village Audio

We are proud to present that Mass F of bass ensemble and Copenhagen label Solumn Records curates the third edition of our Outer Circles Mix Series (OC003). 

Mass F has for years been an established name in everything of the bass-weighty scenes as a DJ, producer and promoter for local soundsystem culture.  With a renewed focus as a drum and bass producer, Mass F has, beside his individual journey, joined forces with Cigno Sound as Redline Warriors with gnarly and technically strong tracks like Tsantsas on own label Solumn and S-train on BSP BIspebjerg.

In this mix, we shout Mass F for his emphasis on showcasing new and unreleased music bits from himself and others from the local scene.

Outer Circles 003: MassF (April 2024)

For OC004, Nmakz delivers a versatile mix of both dystopian and futuristic vibes and represents breaks in slower paces of the genre than previously showcased on Outer Circles. Nmakz is a connoisseur of the sound of the 90s and his characteristic selection often involves jazzed out oddities and thematics of space and sci-fi. 

Nmakz is thoroughly missed in the Village as he does not reside in Copenhagen anymore, but we thank him for his digital involvement with this mix of carefully selected tunes in classic and contemporary moods.

Outer Circles 004: Nmakz (June 2024)

Liminal State is a multidisciplinary artist from London, based in Copenhagen. Their approach takes you on a journey through different imagined spaces through the creation of alternative sonic universes from a wide range of musical influences, including experimental electronic music, jazz and UK underground beats.

Outer Circles 005: Liminal State (September 2024)

ELCA is an experimental electronic producer who co-runs the Danish label Mana Club, pushing contemporary harsh floor and deep-end bass music with direct inspiration in alternate UK club culture. ELCA has previously had releases on boundary-pushing and cornerstone label of its class Katharsis, revealing harmonically rich and thematic soundscapes in fearless musicality.

In March ELCA released rhythmically explorative track ‘ACURA RSX’ showcasing finesse and attention to the craft in doomerist scapes b
etween the unnatural sounding and the organic.

As part of Mana Club, the label just released their second EP entitled JAILBREAKS with the theme of club edits, including Elcas edit of Gosh - and alongside experienced producers out of Denmark, pushing experimental club music. 

We welcome ELCA to the Circles with this mix, which explores different aspects of his campaign as an artist in inspirations spanning wide, yet consistent and in development with a nurture for the depths. Enjoy.

SPNR delivers a versatile blend of rated harsh bass music for our 7th mix in our series. In this mix, his focus is on highlighting local artists in the scene pushing experimental dance music.

Outer Circles 007: SPNR (May 2025)

ZeroZero return to Flexout with a powerful remix EP that reimagines some of their most iconic tracks to date. At the heart of the release is a VIP of their seminal hit Confidence—a tune that’s been played in countless sets around the globe and received heavy support from some of the biggest names in Drum & Bass.
Joining the party is Para, delivering a razor-sharp remix of Anything Can Happen, ZeroZero’s standout collaboration with MC GQ. Revan steps in with a fresh take on Thinking Over It, transforming the soulful original with Riya into a deeper, darker roller. Rounding off the EP is Samath’s remix of Cramp, flipping the script entirely with an unexpected yet brilliant interpretation that pushes the track into uncharted territory.
This release celebrates the evolution of ZeroZero’s sound while shining a light on some of the most exciting talents in the scene. A must-listen for Flexout fans and Drum & Bass heads alike.

Inspired by Ludwig Göransson’s haunting “Can You Hear The Music” — the lead track from the Oppenheimer soundtrack — “CYHTM” begins with a cinematic, tension-heavy intro driven by ethereal violins as opposed to flutes and subtle orchestral textures. The calm doesn’t last: after the break, it erupts into a storm of rolling reeces, booming sub-bass and stripped-back, precise percussion. A powerful opener for any deep or minimal set.

Acquiesce
On the flip, “Acquiesce” pushes the minimal approach even further. Stark, mechanical, and free of any organic textures, it drives deep into the darker spectrum of drum and bass. Punchy basslines and crisp drums dominate, offering a cold yet captivating groove designed for the late hours.

M:Pathy once again showcases his talent for atmosphere and detail while keeping things razor-sharp for the dancefloor. Pure minimal pressure with cinematic soul.

Outer Village is a Copenhagen-based estate of electronic artists with common grounds in pushing deep-end electronica. It’s a collective of producers with an experimental outlook inspired by alien grooves, ambivalent ambience, noise-infused soundscapes and broken breakbeats.
