Sardinia native Elisa Bee delivers an hour of timeless techno for number 195 in the LWE mix series.

First picking up the decks back in 2007, it wasn't until 2012 that she decided to delve into the world of music production. Charmed by her work, UK-based DJ Haus signed her ‘Mind Game EP’ to influential imprint, Unknown To The Unknown. Since then, she has released music under Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains, Posthuman’s Balkan Vinyl and many others. Elisa features on the debut EP of Boxia’s highly anticipated new label ‘Outerworld’, releasing on 4th March.

D-Knox (Donnell Knox) is a living legend and integral member of Techno’s history, delivering funk-laden grooves, deep Detroit and hard-hitting Techno for the past 25+ years. 
Over that time he has gathered a following for his music both at home in the US, and overseas. 
Now residing in Warsaw (Poland) his sound continues to develop, as his passion never wavers.

Knox grew up in Kalamazoo (Michigan, USA), a city halfway between Detroit and Chicago, which goes a long way to explain the musical direction he’s taken over the years. 
As a musical youth he learned piano and drums before discovering dance music in the early ‘80s. 
Spending summer vacations with family in these two cities, he would listen to the Hot Mix radio show while in Chicago and The Wizard (Jeff Mills) on WJLB in Detroit, drawing inspiration and knowledge from two places that have been instrumental in House and Techno’s history.   
When his cousin, Jay Denham returned to Kalamazoo in the early ‘90s the two began making tracks together and later Denham introduced him to the likes of Derrick May and other early Detroit producers. 
After releasing tracks for various key labels, like Elypsia, Morbid, Magic Trax (run by the influential 90’s magazine, Magic Feet) and Denham’s Black Nation, he started his own Sonic Mind imprint, which continues to this day.

A living legend and integral member of techno’s history, D-Knox has been delivering funk-laden grooves, deep Detroit and hard-hitting Techno for the past 3 decades.  Growing up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a city halfway between Detroit and Chicago, he spent his childhood summer vacations in the two cities, where he'd tape radio shows from The Wizard (Jeff Mills) and Hot Mix 5. 

Releasing high-octane Midwest techno as D-Knox in his late teens for various key labels including Elypsia, Morbid, Magic Trax and Denham’s Black Nation, he would go on to start his own acclaimed Sonic Mind imprint, which continues to this day. D-Knox’s latest release ‘Underground Railroad’ features on the debut EP of Boxia’s highly anticipated new label ‘Outerworld’.

We’ve got some fresh house music heat from Kai Van Dongen for our final premiere of the week. The UK based artist has provided a cosmic broken beat journey, reminiscent of olden age lo-fi house & absolutely perfect to kick start your weekend.

Boxia’s Outerworld imprint brings together artists from around the world for it’s next release, including; Japan, New York, London, and Stuttgart, for its second release. Acid intensity, full-scale boosters, and evocative soundscapes are all on display in ‘OUTER002.’

Kai Van Dongen has been pretty prolific in the studio in recent times, knocking out an assortment of dance-floor hits on various labels. Having released on 1Ø PILLS MATE, Ei8ht Records, Truncate, Underdub Records among others, it’s fair to say Kai is hitting all the right labels for a budding producer to blossom into a renowned 12 inch seller.

Born in South Africa but based in London Kai Van Donegen defies the genre boundaries that somewhat govern and control what many young producers will put out at early stages of their career. Kai has been releasing stellar techno, house, acid, electro & more, with little qualms to what may be defined as his sound. Rolling basslines, jacking vocals, crunchy drums & squelchy acid lines are integral in Kai’s output but otherwise don’t define his sound.

With ‘Chiptune Time Traveller,’ Kai Van Dongen takes us on a cosmic broken-beat voyage, using aggressive percussion and enticing vocals to transport us to another world. This is your Friday feel good soundtrack.
