Together with Daniël’s signature bright brassy synths and his use of the right samples, it makes this EP a package with a fantastic funk and groove!

Headlights sliced through the inky black, the familiar highway a tempting blur. But tonight, a different rhythm pulsed. A turn onto a forgotten road, dust kicking up like whispered secrets. Stars, a million pinpricks, replaced the harsh glare of streetlights. Crickets chirped a lullaby, the engine a gentle hum. Miles stretched, not towards a destination, but towards a quietude the highway couldn't offer. The long way home, bathed in moonlight, a journey for the soul.

The town of Sligo might not mean a whole lot to you, but after this release, you’ll know that it has brought forth 2 of the funkiest Irish guys you’ve ever seen. Their release on Heist comes after their chart topping release on their own label “Splendor & Squalor”, it’s is filled with jazzy chords, lovely loose percussion and well found soul samples.

"Rehearsal" is sustained by Klubbhusset's patented, bouncy 909 percussion, flipping a gospel-like sample that all well-educated hip-hop heads should recognize. Clever filtering and hat work serve to keep the track hustling without monotony. It's really a perfect main chop too; the vocals irresistibly soulful and catchy, with piano flutters and horn stabs from the sample accenting the experience. Though it's the first track on the release, "Rehearsal" really works best as a later night affair. Its bittersweet loop staying faithful until the end.
