Spectrum continues Saturday’s early proceedings, and what a start. For this edition Vika invites Echochord head Kenneth Christiansen for an hour of dub techno in the purest, most organic sense of the style. From the heady minimalist roll to the dub-centred steppers, its an at times surreal and totally enveloping sonic landscape which pays homage to the roots whilst capitalising on the still early developments. From Deadbeat, to Stillhead, and Frenk Dublin, this is a total, total tip.

Ben Kamal launches OG01, the inaugural release on his new label, ov guidance.

Side A features two tracks by the Brussels producer a.brehme, conceived as counterparts to one another. The shimmering, meditative ‘Dawning’ carries the promise of daybreak. Plucked strings and hushed morning whispers cast elusive shadows in the soft glow. ‘Extrapolate’, by contrast, runs deep and wide. It unfolds an increasingly impressive arsenal of layered rhythms and melodies—at times unleashing, at times withholding—always with something new up its sleeve.

On Side B, ‘Extrapolate’ is reimagined by Signal Kommt aka Z@p. The Uruguayan producer tightens his grip, carving out an even more unyielding groove. Rather than smoothing the edges, he sharpens them. As the track pushes forward, brewing drama and flickering synths eventually dissolve into the night.

This month's spiralling, naturally show sees host basic chanel invite Australian artist Zara onto Netil Radio, taking over an hour each. Zara's recent releases on Butter Sessions with Command D and solo on amenthia recordings as well as Animalia, Amniote Editions, QEONE, and Pure Space, have been a staple in my sets so I'm super excited to welcome Zara on the show whilst she's here in London! Bringing back a bit of summer with the first recorded interview from this past @dimensionsfestival in Tisno, Croatia. This was my second year hosting talks at the lovely Haze stage and the first guest in our little series is Australian DJ and Animalia label boss, @kia-sydney.

A longtime lover of dance music who started DJing in 2015, Kia’s sets travel from dark and driving to playful and euphoric with complete ease — she’s an artist who refuses to limit herself, and her sound only benefits from not being boxed in, while her label’s exports are as adventurous and exciting as she is. More than just a creative outlet, music is a form of personal expression for Kia, and she is an expert in crafting not only DJ performances, but mixes that are often akin to a diary. As always for these live talks, rather than honing in on one topic, we’re exploring each artist’s journey and the musical pursuits that make them who they are.

Spinning a new leaf for 2026, co:clear presents ‘Imago’ – a pristine collection of modern-classical electronica from Burning Pyre. With impeccable vocal offerings from Australian poet 3NDLES5 and Shell Company lead-vocalist Rosabella Allen, this album represents a broadening of horizons for the Newcastle upon Tyne denizen, who also heads up the Eastern Nurseries imprint.

There’s a poignant sensibility throughout this body of work: thoughtful melodic stabs pair delicately with emotive ambience and precise textural specks. It’s a sonic blossoming that lays its roots in atmospheric-ambient divagations, yet over time blooms with enveloping subs and skittering percussion – flowering fresh strains of dub, downtempo and trip-hop.
