Being a creative in Pakistan is no easy feat - but that was never enough to stop Technodan, Karachi based techno DJ, from making his dark, exotic music anyway. His love for music was born from listening to underground European electronic music and iconic sets such as Solomon’s Boiler Room; he is determined to see a similar culture flourish in Pakistan. 

Previously, the electronic music scene in Pakistan remained underground; it was sparse and considered obscure. However, post the 2020 lockdown, the vast, untapped potential of Pakistani music revealed itself as the local rave scene moved into the spotlight.

Amidst this, Technodan saw an opportunity to help the music scene grow. With his unique approach to industrial and minimal deep techno, a genre which is a rarity in the local scene, he quickly found himself turning heads. For his setup, he adds his own samples and a step sequencer from his DAW live into his mix, creating a hybrid setup, which is a one-of-a-kind feat within Pakistan. 

Coming from a city where there are no platforms or dedicated clubs, Technodan not only desires to see that change; he knows Pakistani music deserves to be recognised on a global scale - and he wants to be part of that revolution.
