Phemelo Mamabolo formally known as Certified Genius is a Singer & Hip Hop producer hailing from the mining town of Carletonville just outside of Johannesburg. His introduction to music came at a very young age as he grew up in a Missionary & would sit in choir rehearsals at his grandfather's church. Though his first taste of music came in the form of gospel he would later be introduced to a wide variety of great RnB/Pop musicians which consisted of Beyoncé, Aicia Keys & Brandy would later shape him into the musician he is today. As he grew older his taste in music became more diverse & he was exposed to different genres. Overtime his love for music grew so much that in the late summer of late 2017 he started producing his own music. & for the next 3 years he worked & produced for local artists around Carletonville building a name for himself. Now in 2021 19 years in Johannesburg studying Music Composition, Certified hopes to share his musical genius with the globe & get the recognition he deserve

Musical releases 
Teenage Love Crisis was released to all platforms on the 16th of July 2021 & was heavily influenced by the slow RnB ballads he grew up listening to. It was the first official release & currently his most experimental project to date. Till this day it is regarded a classic within the small Certified cult. 

LATE LIFE CRISIS was released on the 20th of July 2022 & was the 2nd installment to the "Crisis" mixtape series. It wasn't really a fan favorite as it was a switch up sonically with hard hitting trap anthems opposed to the slow love ballads that encapsuled TLC but stand out tracks would be "My Bih She A Queen Like Latifah feat Ugly_Kyros" & "Skadoski feat WhoisWarren". Its easy for this one to be dubbed his most underrated work. 

An Extended Play was released on the 2nd of Sept 2022 in honor of all African Girls titled "All Pretty Girls Have Melanin" & was heavily influenced by the ever-growing Afrobeats sound.

Other honorable mentions would be the singles "Alive feat Pumas+Roses & ApolloSol" & "Angels" featuring a peom from his younger sister Puleng & Angelo whose known Certified since she was a little girl. 

The year is now 2023 & Certified is hard at work on the 3rd & final installment to the "Crisis" series & everyone is wondering which sonicscape is going to consume this project & will it he keep the ritual of only releasing in July...
