about : river return to Bespoke Musik after a brilliant radio show mix earlier this year with a four-song suite that folds living-room intimacy into widescreen motion. What begins as a whisper opens onto a horizon of warm analog textures and patient, dance-literate grooves. The Estonian father-and-son duo, Oleg and Ervin, trade phrases across a 24-year bridge, letting melody lead and rhythm arrive when the story needs to move. Its electronic music with a pulse you can feel and a tenderness you dont often hear—cinematic, human, and quietly hopeful, triumphant. The new EP reads like a short film in four scenes. Piano sketches become themes, clarinet replies become memories, and the synths color everything with tape-warm glow. Known to the tax man as Glyne Brathwaite, DJ and producer Risk Assessment has been a face on the London scene since the early 90’s. A regular behind the decks at Fabric and Ministry of Sound, he also ran his own promotions outfit, working with seminal imprints like MAW Records, King Street Music and BBE. The soulful, disco-leaning productions under his Risk Assessment alias have become dancefloor staples. ‘Remember Me’, originally released on Saison’s No Fuss Records, sees him collaborate with Toronto songstress Jemeni G, whose mystic vocals recount tales of Studio 54, self-expression and long nights spent on the dancefloor. The record makes a perfect fit for the Glitterbox imprint’s catalogue of evergreen dance music, and now comes with two remixes from two of the genre’s brightest stars. Up first, French producer, composer and Partyfine label manager Yuksek delivers his stripped back and sublimely executed remix. Up next, one of the Glitterbox roster’s own, Natasha Kitty Katt, makes her label debut as she takes the track to the deeper recesses of the dancefloor, with an intensified wandering bassline and melodic keys.
