To celebrate 20 years of building Labyrinths, we have decided to release one set from each of the last ten years. I've chosen ten timeless moments that both document the history of the event and provide a historical snapshot of underground electronic music over the past ten years.

We have chosen a broad range--from closing techno sets, to morning ambient sets, to experimental sets to close the night. Each set represents a different side of the event. Taken together, they present a portrait of a decade of music.

The Labyrinthの20周年を記念して、過去10年間を振り返り、それぞれの年からひとつのミックスをピックアップすることにしました。イベントの歴史を記録すると同時に、過去10年間のアンダーグラウンドエレクトロニックミュージックの歴史的なスナップショットを提供します。今聞いても色褪せない、タイムレスな極上のミックスをお楽しみください。

テクノのクロージングセットから、朝のアンビエントセット、そして夜を締めくくるエクスペリメンタルセットまで幅広いセレクトですが、どのセットもThe Labyrinthの欠かせない側面を表しており、ここ10年におけるエレクトロニック ミュージックの全容とも言えるでしょう。

Kazuki Yamaguchi a.k.a. Kez YM is a a Berlin DJ and producer originally hailing from Japan, he brings true school funk, soul, disco and Detroit beatdown inspirations to his productions. Building an impeccable discography since his debut EP, he has put out original work and remixes on respected labels like Yore, Deep Explorer, Faces, and City Fly. His debut LP 'Cross Section', released on Faces Records in February 2019, shows that he can push his signature sound to uncharted territory.

Derrick May is one of our main headliners at Rejected's Amsterdam Dance Event 2012 night at Studio 80, 18th of october.
Since my early dj days, I consider Derrick May as a huge inspiration, and in particular this dj set. Broadcasted live in 1996 from the legendary Chemistry night at Escape, Amsterdam. It was recorded from midnight radio by my partner in crime Edwin Oosterwal who borrowed me the cassette tape which I never gave back to him, which reminds me I should do that sometime soon.

In this mix, Derrick May shows us that in 1996 dance wasn't pigeonholed to one style or sound. He mixes Moodymann's groovy deephouse with Jeff Mills and Surgeon's raw techno. He goes from Donna Summer's disco to Tyree Cooper's jacking electronic funk, from Masters of Work's new york house to Ian Pooley's epic chord techno. All of this is mixed in a fast and skillful pace, a style that so clearly carries Derrick's signature.

There's some truly magical moments in this mix, how he get's out of Surgeon's 'Syllable' into Global Communication's 'Sensorama' at 1:09 leaves me speechless..

Even though by now I know most of the record he plays here, there's still a few I've been looking since the very first time I heard this mix. Would be great to get the tracklist completed, any help is greatly appreciated!

For the second premiere of the week, we welcome a debut production from Index, Research and Fuinneamh main man, Aeron.

What was meant to be one of the final dances of the year, the label head, party starter and Fuinneamh organiser was due to sign off the year with a sold out festival. However, we all know how the year progressed and what was once a positive start, slowly transcended into one of the most surreal and bizarre times that we're likely to ever experience in our lifetimes... That said, we will get through this and normality, in whatever shape or form, will return.

As many of you will know, Aeron is known for his heavy techno sets and booking policy, but against the backdrop of the year, this first release couldn't have come at a better time. Originally planning to play it out during Fuinneamh, he has since decided to share it with us today in the shape of this new atmospheric, dreamy and poignant track, which is also a free download.
