Jessica Amber Rafuse, known artistically as indiazi, is a multidisciplinary producer, writer, and vocalist based in Calgary, Alberta. Her name—a hybrid of indie love and a Kenyan word meaning sweet, cool, and cures famine—captures the range of her work: emotionally raw, rhythmically sharp, and spiritually nourishing.
indiazi's sonic journey began 26 years ago during a reading of Crime and Punishment, but truly bloomed in Toronto’s underground during her years studying journalism at Ryerson University. Rooted in drum’n’bass, shaped by trauma and transcendence, her work explores survival, dissociation, heartbreak, resilience, and deep inner rebirth. She is Harsh Spice—sweet after.
