How to deal with the so-called „myth“ forrest as an urban person?
What`s ones experiences with it, how to reshape and how to use it in order to fullfill ones most basic desires?

YARD is a semi-documentary video work, consisting of multiple squences, which are the result of a 10-days- stay in a forrest around Waakirchen/ Germany during the „Almresidency“-project and reflects the personal experiences of the artist.

A number of installative fence-structures basically transform forrest glades, mountain pastures, a small stream and other woodland spaces into stages, on which accoustic narratives arise.

Therefor the process of fencing in/ off/ round represents an essential mechanism to become capable of defying boarders, to sound an areal and finally to identify oneself with a strange environment.

with a rustle and a patter it becomes unfurled
and furls in tiny almost silence 
quiet, passing out of sight, not a faintest mark

don’t hold your breath, embark
on the road in the dark 

planets, there are planets, no light of their own, 
gliding the ecliptic plane, doing nothing at all, 
remote, self-contained, painlessly alone
tick tick tick the turning worlds
only are, they only are, in the dark, the unfolded thrill of my silent heart’s thrall

I want to, before I fall
embrace it all

shapeshifters, there are no shapeshifters in the gloom
out here you can only be what you are
elemental matter, radiation, vacuum
I tell myself the story of myself
and the rest is astronomy, mineral reality, this travelling car

don’t hold back, we will go far
on the road in the dark

aligned, Jupiter and Venus, aligned, descending
I whisper the names, the moon’s an open O
the turn upon turn of a key, turn and turn unending
that unlocks and opens nothing
but the lock of opening, the slide and turn and click as we go

on a cliff, in fog

the morning coffee that I drank

the cliff, the fog, the seascape
the tides eroding the headland’s flank

the borrowed clothes, the sleep, the food,
the shopping lists, the washing up
don’t add up to a living whole
a long-ago drop broke the coffee cup
I use, reassembled, glued

this morning’s images, details
fractured, blurring and the waves
running in, organic waves of longing
for these things that I would save
the mist rolls on, the horizon fades

I am not a complete man
and together we don’t converge
you cannot hold a cloud of fog
our unfinished wills still fail to merge
I try to not break what I can

I don’t know really why I would
save for the hapless sense that I belong
that together though, we‘ll neither save
nor even try to prolong
though I’d thought there was a common good

this autumn’s images, details
fractured, blurring and the waves

for the life that I would save
the mist rolls in, the horizon fails

the sedimentary rock where I sit
the gull that flaps on by
september fog, atlantic swell
I don’t think I can answer why  
the layered details knit, unknit
