In honor of Pi.  This is created from the sound of a wine glass being rubbed by a wet finger and the sound of a tabla drum.  There are three loops.  Each loop goes through the first one hundred digits of Pi where each digit of Pi controls the pitch and amplitude of each note.  In the first loop, there are 3.14 seconds between each note.  The second loop starts 3.141 seconds after the first.  In the second loop, there are 3.1415 seconds between each note.  The third loop starts 3.14159 seconds after the second.  In the third loop (the tabla), there are 3.141592 seconds between each hit.  Finally, the duration of this piece is 314 seconds (and some change).  I hope you enjoy it. Peace.

A Tiny Sliver Of Pi

“Tenderness” is the first collaborative album between Japanese musician Yumi Iwaki and Brazilian Carlos Ferreira using unreleased sketches, improvisations, and samples, “Tenderness” is a mosaic of painted sounds that does not end in itself, inviting the listener to inhabit its center.

Porto Alegre based experimental guitarist Carlos Ferreira and Tokyo-based synthesizer hypnotist Yumi Iwaki are presenting "Tenderness" , their first ever collaborative album through Modern Obscure Music. Carlos and Yumi have created this powerful ambient odyssey at the distance. Despite some connections between Yumi's family roots with the Brazilian musical scene, both artists feel a strong attraction about their cultural differences, through Literature, films, scents, colors, and nature… Carlos feels “there are infinite cultural differences between Japan and Brazil, and this can be explained by historical and even geographical factors, but people come together through very strong elements that are able to transcend these differences. Diversity must also unite us.”. Eternal Solitude

Disillusionment with Life

the 2018 was a very difficult year for me ...
understanding after so many years of having come to the end of a relationship was not easy to accept. I tried with all my strength to save something that escaped me like sand in my hands.
at the same time I poured all my interior experience into the creative act, as a source of salvation, into a cathartic act.
suspension between abyss and ecstasy ...
I was feverishly working on the realization of my first album.
project which, moreover, was interrupted due to the breakdown of my mac .. I lost several important information, such as sounds created with the help of different vst plugins .. and I still try to recover data etc .. to continue the project.
even today it is not easy for me to listen to this piece again.
it takes me back in time, and inevitably a few tears still line my face.
however, it is one of the few pieces accompanied by a text written at the time. I find it extraordinary how pain is able to take new shape through art.

Packaged Lives

I started creating music on my old PC back in 2002 using DAWs such as Buzz, Fl Studio and Reason. As my artist name suggest I mostly compose tunes that have an ambient edge. My main passion is creating soundscapes, be they soft drifting drones/piano pieces/heavily synth driven, weirdly abstract and classical and orchestral pieces. I mainly compose using apps on my IPad but also make use of whatever instruments I have lying around such as my Pocket Operators, Modal Craftsynth, my favourite is an Early Learning Centre keyboard.

In the past my tracks have been played in BBC Radio Oxford and BBC 6 Music. Over the years I have collaborated with people from all over the world. Please message me if you would like to collaborate 😀
