Piedra y Raíz es el segundo single promocional del tercer álbum de Derrok, nuevamente con la colaboración de un músico invitado. Esta vez es el turno de Sebuky, talentoso productor y multi instrumentista ecuatoriano quien en su paso por Pucón en el último verano aprovechó de visitar a Derrok para hacer música y compartir de las bondades del sur de Chile. Él viajaba con enormes bolsos cargando un arsenal de instrumentos andinos y caribeños, los cuales fueron utilizados en su mayoría en la grabación de este single.

Piedra y Raíz is the second promotional single for Derrok’s upcoming third album, having once again a collaboration with a guest musician. Sebuky is a talented Ecuadorian producer and multi-instrumentalist based in Spain, who gathered last summer in Pucón with Derrok to make some music together and share the beauty of southern Chile. He was travelling with a heavy arsenal of Andean and Caribbean instruments, being most of them used on the recording of this single.

The winter solstice marks the time where the days get shorter and the nights become longer. So there will be less light outside which in turn invites us to seek and find more light within. This time allows us to go deep within and to reflect upon the past and also connect with dreams and visions for the year to come. It's a great time for meditation and prayer to let go and relax. 

Tranquillitas was the goddess and personification of tranquility, security and peace. 
and can be translated into „calmness“ , peacefullness and a state of security and ease. 

To support you in this process of introspection and meditation we have invited old and new friends to share their unique approach on this idea. Weather you just want to sit and listen, meditate, do your yoga practice, need a soundtrack for your ceremony or are looking for some intimate and deep moments in your ectstatic dance sets this compilation will be at your service. "Ramas" (branches in Spanish) is El Búho’s third album of original material and stands for a celebration of the art of collaboration. Featuring 19 collaborations with artists from 12 countries, the album was born organically out of collaborations, mutual appreciation or a desire to experiment and try something new. 

Some of the tracks were started in person, such as "Sky City", born out of a spaghetti-western jam in Thornato’s Queens studio or "Gaviota" inspired by the the seagulls of Brighton following a shared show with Rumbo Tumba in the city. Meanwhile others such as "Elefta" with Hungarian producer Stas or "Kuuma" a track made with Finnish multi-instrumentalist QOSQI were created over long-distance with the producers never actually meeting face to face. The album also contains tracks from long-term friends and collaborators like Chancha Via Circuito, Barda and Wonderwheel head-honcho Nickodemus. 

Musically the album references the blend of Latin American traditional music with original electronic music on tracks such as "Resiliencia" with legendary Chilean producer DJ Raff, an homage to the recent protest movement in Chile, or "Absolut," a track sculpted from an unfinished melodic idea by Argentine electro-folk trio Tremor. Meanwhile songs like "Nevar" and "Kif Kif Kuf Kuf" with Didacte and Kraut, both part of the Shika Shika collective, take El Búho’s sound in a new direction, embracing a more melodic or impactful and rhythmic electronica. 

At its heart of "Ramas" was Perkins’ desire to challenge himself creatively, forcing him to see his own ideas and production style from a different angle or see ideas started in one direction come back completely transformed by the collaborator. The result is at once surprising and diverse but El Búho’s signature sound and aesthetic is the thread that runs through all of the tracks, the trunk to each branch. 

Carrying on the spirit of collaboration, El Búho made an open call for collaborations with dancers & choreographers in his community. Overwhelmed by the response, the album is accompanied by 18 original choreographies by dancers and dance groups from 12 different countries, from Mexico to Taiwan, South Africa or the Galapagos Islands. Each chose the track that most inspired them and shot a video of their dance in a unique and beautiful natural location, in doing so creating yet more ramas or branches for the project.

BLOOM & ELIH - The Long Run

MANUEL TRÖHLER aka OXIDIX is a DJ, turntablist, remixer and producer from the Swiss capital Bern. Known for his sophisticated sampling, his DJ skills and as a backup MC for various band formations in the fields of hip hop, world and electronic, OXIDIX can always be found year in, year out on all kinds of stages. In 2010 he completed a two-year Swiss tour with rapper & beatboxer STEFF LA CHEFFE. Inspired and spurred by a 19-month world trip through Asia, Africa and South America in 2012 and 2013, OXIDIX's field of work has steadily expanded. With his diverse, always surprising DJ sets, his live electro project THE LUGUBRIOUS and his collaboration with the multi-award-winning Basel rapper LA NEFERA, the producer and DJ has been able to prove how versatile and promising his work is in the live and production fields.

OXIDIX’s own compositions move somewhere between downtempo, electronic and hip hop. His music blends together the rhythms, melodies and mythologies of different continents with the sounds of the forest, the chirping of crickets, trickling stones and crackling leaves. The organic textures intertwine smoothly with a modern electronic sound aesthetic. Punchy, crispy beats bounce in the foreground, while a variety of self recorded instruments create a dreamscape full of depth and mysticism. A dreamy, warm and melodic trip that entrances as much through headphones as it does on the dancefloor.
