Frank Murillo was born in New York City and still lives and works there as a musician, producer and teacher.
The multi-instrumentalist mensions Queen, David Bowie and Santana as his biggest musical influences.
“ Letting It Rest” was originaly released in 1986 on the New York based Chapter 13 label. Frank Murillo played all the instruments and sings on this killer leftfield disco boogie cut with a heavy italo feel.
So, it’s with great pleasure that Ostra Discos presents the reissue of this awesome track!

MOED is a very special selection of obscure edits, a side project from MOM, based in Barcelona.
The idea of this “DJ USE ONLY” material comes from Da Silva, an undercover label partner and a great collector, who made one of the edits. This EP also features well known producers like Jimi Bazzouka aka Joakim and Pedro Vian, the label owner.
Obscure Edits Volume 1 has a distinct 1980s feel, with each editor breathing new life into their chosen track. The first edit on the EP is PV’s edit Live In Japan. It features powerful synths, tight percussion and as you might expect, Japanese vocals. Next up is Da Silva’s version of My Man. This edit sees layered synths and a bassline provide a wonderful groove, where they are joined by heartbroken vocals. Finally, we have Jimi Bazzouka aka Joakim’s take on Somerset Hills. Here, a playful flute with an eastern feel is laid over strong keys and adaptable percussion. This is a strong selection of edits, which are ready for the dancefloor.

Thanks to @shadesrecs for letting us premiere that nice remix of @joemorris "Spirit Walker" by @clandestinomusic. As the name says, the remix overwhelms the original track by providing plenty of drums everywhere! This gave much more complexity, a touch of acid and rhythm of course to a track that had a deeper vibe. Spirit Walkers is an extract of Joe Morris first LP on Shades of Sounds Recordings called "Exotic Language".
