Introducing 'Soulé,' the first single from the highly anticipated upcoming album 'A place between us.' by Okvsho (@Soulofzurich). Emerging from a jam session gathering the blossoming young jazz scene of Capetown during Okvsho’s South Africa Tour, the composition invites listeners to surrender to its evolving cadence, meandering through a tapestry of groovy percussions, silky chord progressions and a symphony of delicate guitar licks and grounding string arrangements.

Okvsho:
“As we couldn’t take our band to South Africa and Eswatini, we found different musicians for every gig we played through Instagram and with the help of the people we met during our journey. We played different versions of Soulé at every gig, but only after our last show in Cape Town, we knew where this song was going. Back in Zurich we started to record with some of our long-time collaborators and friends and Soulé emerged, a beautiful collaboration between Cape Town and Zurich.”

“At the start of the song you can hear the legendary saxophonist Mthunzi Mvubu asking “in riddim?” after we asked him to use the saxophone as a percussion instrument during a recording session in Johannesburg.”

The legendary trio are one of the most well-known and most loved Brazilian exports, still regularly touring, including dates worldwide.

Most prolific during their time signed to Milestone, where they released 10 LP’s between 1979 and 1988.

Osmar Milito e Quarteto Forma - America Latina

‘America Latina’ is taken from the soundtrack to the Rede Globo soap opera "Selva De Pedra”, released on Som Livre in 1972. A cheerful, upbeat MPB song with a killer chorus drop.

Milito began his career in 1964 artists as Nara Leão, Maria Bethania, Vinicius de Morais, Gilberto Gil, Jorge Ben and Elis Regina amongst others. He worked in the USA with Chico Buarque and Sergio Mendes for several years in the 70’s, also appearing alongside artists including Liza Minelli, Mark Murphy, Spanky Wilson and Sammy Davis Jr.

As sampled on Madvillain ft. M.E.D 'Raid', and featured in the Floating Points  and Fourtet Plastic People mix!

Brand new single 'Housecat / Live From The Village' from dystopian jazz group, AVER & Move78

The group comprises of Doron Segal (keyboards), Hal Strewe (bass), Nir Sabag (drums), Omri Abramov (saxophone) and Aver (sampler/production). 

Doron, Nir, Omri, and Hal have been fixtures in the Berlin jazz scene for the past five years, hosting jams and live events, as well as touring with their own groups and playing in innumerable other bands. Most notably, Doron, Nir, and Omri are also part of J.Lamotta's live band (Jakarta Records). Hal was in Australian funk band Leisure Bandits and is currently working with Nanghiti. Omri tours with avant-garde rock outfit Alex's Hand and was formerly part of experimental jazz duo Niogi. Nir was the leader of the Bones Trio, an Israeli free jazz group and Doron has just released his debut album, The Addition of Strangeness, with his own trio on Village Live Records. 

Aver was part of both Dayse & Aver and The Natural Curriculum and has been releasing his own hip-hop records independently since 2011. During the making of his last solo album, Dressed For CCTV, he began enlisting the help of Nir, Doron, Omri, and Hal to add live elements to 
his sample-based instrumentals. Since the release of the album they collectively began working on a live set to showcase the new material, and in the process began recording new tracks of their own under the name Move 78. 

The band has recently finished recording its debut album. In the studio, Aver played clusters of breaks and samples, which the musicians extensively improvised around. He has then taken these recordings and torn them apart to create a moody brand of automated jazz. 

The album is scheduled for release on Village Live Records Summer 2019. Before this in April 2019, Aver & Move 78 are doing a small UK tour of Birmingham, Manchester & Leeds, where they will be selling their first 7"as a band, featuring tracks 'Housecat' and 'Live From The Village'.
