It's 2am,  and you're driving across Nebraska,  or maybe it's the Moroccan desert.  You've just seen a sign that says "Next Services, 56 Miles,"  and you have a quarter tank of gas.  The sky is full of stars. You're relaxed and alert, alone with your thoughts...

…and a quarter tank of gas.

The ghost of French West Africa's best kalimba player washes up on the rocky shore of Virginia in 1897.  Not yet realizing he's dead,  he builds a fire beneath a lonely lighthouse, carefully dries his instrument and begins to play.  As the notes drift through the night sky he is joined by sea sirens and wood sprites who gather to sing and dance and play. All through the night, music for the memory of lost souls floats through the forest and along the water's edge.

Their song is a celebration of death, but also of life, and the dancing and music continue until the pastels of early morning clouds begin to paint the horizon. Sunrise approaches, and the ghost's final performance quietly draws to a close, leaving only the sound of the ocean waves gently breaking on shore and a single lone, battered kalimba, drifting out with the tide.

Reed and a friend went to the park to buy several pounds of marijuana, but the drug deal was a setup to rob Reed of more than $1,000 in cash.

BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix 2015

I'm building a synthesizer, focusing on making it playable live. This is my first attempt to get anything at all recorded, not much planning or anything, just throwing a patch together and letting it run.

Modules used: TR-808 snare, hat, and an oscillator that can glide between triangle wave to square with a smooth sine in between. These pass through a wave multiplier, diode-ladder low pass, and a PT2399 based delay.

Along with that is a TR-808 kick, modded for adjustable frequency and longer delay. The kick is clean -- no effects at all.

Then it's just messing with the filter knobs!
