Boy of the Year, the coming-of-gender LP, is an experimental dark-pop album by Buffalo artist Medusa. It is their 3rd fully realized album to date.

While first and foremost dealing directly in the complexities of self discovery and queer identity, it is also a concept album.

The allegorical narrative follows a falling-out between god and Lucifer, god's favorite son. After Lucifer's fall, he becomes bitter and resentful of his 'privilege' as the king of hell.

God sees this and, like any parent, seeks to teach him a lesson. God binds Lucifer to a human form, charging him with the responsibility of somehow, by the end of his life, remembering his celestial heritage.

By abstracting the experiencing of learning who and what we are into tales of legend and grandeur, we more easily tell our truths.

This album has influences from, but not limited to: hip hop, metal, math rock, dark pop, rap, nu disco, power ballads, alt r&b, post-hardcore, choirs, cheerleading chants, dub, synthwave, and straight up pop, baby.

Pippy’s “World of Machines”:  A concept album designed to immerse the listener into an industrial world, void of life and covered with machines.  Each track focuses on a specific region of a post-apocalyptic world which lives on mechanically.  Inspirations for this piece come from observations of industry, world events of 2020, and exploitation of our mother and provider.
