Today we premiere a track from a new Irish techno label with a track coming from Dublin techno boss, Mode_1. Robbie Kavnagh aka Mode_1 has contributed deep and driving techno track with howling synth lines, pounding kick-drums and eery atmospheres throughout. This is not to miss from one of Dublins most consistent producers.

Mode_1 has been busy in the studio, supplying a wealth of music within recent times. Mode_1’s carefully crafted DJ tools lye in tangent with his well orchestrated DJ sets which have caught the attention of many through his time as a Subject resident, playing regularly in Dublin and on the festival circuit.

Mode_1 produces clean and powerful peak time techno and
his DJ sets would be best described as fast and trippy with a groove. The Dublin based selector has shared the stage with some of technos most formidable figures including; Ben Klock, Slam, Ben Sims, Dave Clarke, Paula Temple, Blawan and more.

In the studio Mode_1 has been constructing well oiled techno records and releasing them on highly regraded techno imprints including; Naked Lunch Records, Knotweed Rec, Fiedeltwo, Truncate and more.

Mode_1’s track Recourse is classic rolling techno. Recourse is a tough, trippy and sinister. Shrieking synths take centre stage of the track as atmospheres swirl around the track. Pounding kick drums and gnarly percussion give the track a real peak time feel, yet it still feel’s utterly spaced out. The is grat work from one of Dublins finest techno producers.

The idea of creating this release appeared to us a long time ago. We wanted to make a release of remixes dedicated to a track written by a Belarusian artist and began to mull over who it could be. Since we have been friends with the guys from ethnic electronic music group ’’Shuma’’ for a long time and we were fans of their work, they were the first ones in our list of artists. We made them an offer and the guys agreed immediately.

We were offered to choose one of the tracks from the album "Shuma - Me, Mother", which was released in 2019, to create remixes. The track Hatka was chosen, which means "a house" in Belarusian language. We wanted the remixes for the release to be written by Belarusian producers, as well as producers from other parts of the world, in a 50-50 ratio. But to our surprise, there were more compatriots willing to take part in writing remixes than we expected, so 7 out of 9 tracks were written by Belarusians. The foreign guests were represented as a bright participant of the ‘’Pornceptual” project - Deepneue and one of the executives of the ‘’Sticky Ground’’ label - küetzal.

The release was supposed to come out earlier, but circumstances appeared so that it is coming out right now, at not the easiest time for our planet. With this release, we want to speak out in support of peace and against what is happening right now in the center of Europe, on the territory of Ukraine. All the money from the sale of the album will go to help the victims.

here is my contribution. the first track works on detailed-sonar mike resonates with a deep 4x4 point kick. the groove is on the second track with high bpm and reverb works… also the live cut version of it is more dry with UFO noises. for 002.3 I used deep bassline combined to break and dub pads. the last one is built with synth-anxious melody, solid groove and echo game. I hope you’ll appreciate the work done here as much as me. with love, stay safe x

Born and breed in Spain, P.E.A.R.L. was first introduced to electronic music through the sounds
of the late 90s and early 2000s, which have played a foundational role in shaping his artistic
identity. Immersing himself in club culture during his teenage years, he developed a deep
connection to the raw energy of Techno music, particularly influenced by the sounds emerging
from the UK and Spain.

In 2012, he moves to Berlin, and a year later, he established his own label, Falling Ethics
Records. Initially a platform for his own work, the label has expanded to showcase a diverse
range of artists, contributing to the global Techno community. Falling Ethics is also known for
its distinctive visual aesthetic and authenticity that has helped to establish itself as a reference
point in the independent scene.

As a performer, P.E.A.R.L. brings quality to the DJ booth: His approach is less about spectacle
and more about crafting moments with love and deeply personal. There’s intentionality in how
he guides the dancefloor, balancing tension with release in a very eclectic way. It’s this
unpretentious yet deliberate artistry that has earned him a quiet respect within the global
Techno community, not as a figure chasing trends, but as someone who understands our culture.
