"¿Cómo vive usted?". La pregunta parece sencilla, pero planteada por el sociólogo Edgar Morin y el documentalista Jean Rouch, se presta para las múltiples respuestas, interacciones, diatribas y vivencias al centro de Crónica de un verano, un proyecto que partió como un filme encuesta acerca de un grupo de parisinos en el verano de 1960 y acabó convertido en una obra bisagra en la historia del cine. Al ocupar toda una serie de técnicas nuevas al momento de acercar la cámara y el sonido directo a sus personajes, la película dio origen a lo que hoy conocemos como Cinéma vérité; pero además se transformó en un crisol social que atrapó el eclipse definitivo de la Francia colonial (es el primer filme que confronta directamente la guerra de Argelia), la enajenación urbana y laboral, la frustración de la burguesía educada y la rebeldía latente de la clase obrera, la relación que el individuo mantiene con la cámara, la fractura de la vida en común en la Europa de posguerra. La fotografía de ese instante en el tiempo, alucina por su precisión, honestidad y belleza; y de paso adelanta el escenario para un todavía lejano mayo del 68. De eso y más se habla en este podcast.
