Hi Everybody, I’m very happy to be back with a new MFT Radio show and a very special guest : Soul Supreme from Amsterdam. 

The great musician and producer known for his great Hip-Hop and Jazz-Funk Covers put together a great hour mix session featuring his favorite tracks and main influences which shows he’s a serious head; from 70’s Soul Funk (J.R. Bailey, Odyssey, Caesar Frazier), Soul Fusion Jazz (Tarika Blue, Brother Jack McDuff,Steve Kuhn, Don Blackman), Spiritual Jazz (Weldon Irvine, Gary Bartz) and a brazilian music lover. As Usual I have started this new session with my best last digging tracks from Deep Jazz like the last Greg Foat, a brand new fusion French band called Jéroboam and the killer african jazz by Gyedu-Blay Ambolley to some great club jazz tracks incuded the Last Dego and K15 projects, Turbojazz and a killer Broken Beat Bomb by Szajna.

Presenting the first single taken from Gabriele Poso’s forthcoming compilation on Mr Bongo, Ritmo Italiano ‘Unspoken Sounds of Italian Tamburo’. Tony Cercola ‘Lumumba’ is just one of the mesmerising tracks that Sardinian multi-instrumentalist, percussionist and producer, Poso, has curated for this captivating new compilation. It’s an under-the-radar, percussive Italo-disco / proto-house dancer, originally landing on the Italian label Tendance in 1987.

“How can one not be overwhelmed by the energetic force of Tony Cercola? An incredible artist who emerged in the 1970s within the so-called Neapolitan Power movement,” Gabriele mentions. Cercola’s track ‘Lumumba’ showcases the vibrance of Italy’s cultural crossroads, with influences from the Mediterranean, Africa and Europe all rolled into this dynamic tribal whirlwind.

Built upon a foundation of gated snares, flavourful bongos and a driving synth pop bassline, ‘Lumumba’ oozes ‘80s dancefloor energy. Reverberating chords and deft keys are layered up in masterful fashion, as earworm chants and a hypnotising lead vocal draw you in deeper. It's a perfect crossover track for a leftfield electronic dancefloor set and is tailormade to ramp up the intensity when the time is right.

The track is taken from the forthcoming second album by Danish guitarist Jonas Krag’ Santino Surfers project, which follows the success of the self-titled debut of ’23.
 
With ‘The Soul Echo’ Krag’s guitar mastery is on full display, with feathery streams of melody twirling around the loungy blues-rock groove for the full four minutes. Play it at after-dinner drinks or on the car stereo at sunset.
 
The album will be out on Music For Dreams on August 29.

Moi Je, en realité, is the Lyon-based L. De Lassablière. He is finally back with a new EP – ’Reviens’ – that’s more disco and funk than ever. He and a select bunch of close collaborators have crafted this new release with the act of dancing firmly in their sights. The essence of the Moi Je project is still there, with its French electronic influences blended with the warmth of Italian summer sunburns. It’s a signature, poetic sound that has evolved over years of experimentation and practice, now here in glorious high-fidelity. There’s a playfulness too, with lyrics and music combining in fresh new ways. His biggest success so far is his beautiful, warm, disco-ified remix of “On You” from 2016 for fellow Frenchman Kazy Lambist, which earned him a gold disc! The track hasn’t left our USB DJ stick since its release, and is guaranteed to get every sophisticated dance floor moving. (released on Delicieuse Musique Records)
