Hi I'm Luke, I started DJing back in 1997 in Cardiff, just playing house parties and a few outdoor raves and local festivals, playing house, breaks, us garage & detroit house, hard house & drum n bass, jungle, after a few years a freind, DJ Sassi, asked me if i'd like to go to live in London start producing and DJing out, i had nothing to loose and nothing holding me back so i went and didn't look back, started playing in bars and clubs in west London (Ealing/Acton/willesden etc..) fell into the Antipodean scene and had an amazing time playing loads of house parties and meeting lots of awesome people. From that and working at Thames Valley University I met Stace: http://soundcloud.com/stace-1  who i proudly call my most cherished and treasured friend, and the whole cast and crew of Knowwhere, the best trance party in London! 

After almost 10 years in and around London i'm now back in Cardiff, i've not played out for quite a while now but i still love to play, just using a laptop at the moment but when i get some more time on my hands after a career change i plan to spend some money on a good pair of 1210s and some pioneer 1000s, i'd like to start playing out again so get in touch if you like my mixes.

I also sing and play guitar, i have posted a remix of 'Aint no sunshine, so if you are, or know a funk/soul band get in touch as i'm looking to do alot more.

Mark Kane has been DJing for over 29 years under various guises including: Kane, Kane and Able, DEF inc. and currently as Soulshake, a DJ/VJ/AV act combining music, graphics, film and special FX with a sampling, looping, re-editing and cutting 6-deck audiovisual mixing technique.

He is versatile across multiple musical genres including: breakbeat, house, hip-hop, psy, electro, progressive, world music, global fusion, chill out and drum and bass.

He has released tracks with Botchit and Scarper, Finger Lickin' Records, Born Idle Records, 777, Spin Out Records and Pirate Breaks and his career led him to residencies at London underground breakbeat party C64 and the Jet Lounge in New York and nominations for Best Breakthrough DJ, Best Breakthrough Producer and Best Club Night at the International Breakspoll Awards. 

Originally from London and now based in Ibiza, Mark has performed across the world (Australia, Belarus, Bosnia, Croatia, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, India, Latvia, Lithuania, Morocco, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, France, Turkey, Ukraine, USA and the UK) and numerous festivals including Glastonbury, Glade, Bloom, Seduction, Dragon, Freekuency, and Sundazed Festivals.

After many, many years clubbing, as well as buying, playing and listening to the music myself, it makes sense to share with a like-minded audience - why be selfish? 

The mixes cover an eclectic mix of Funky House, Techno, Tech House and Hard House, dating back to the 90's when club music exploded with a harder edge. 

Influences go back to some legendry clubs from the 90's: Troll @ Soundshaft, Trade @ Turnmills, Garage @ Heaven and many of the DJ's that graced their decks including; Daz Sound, Trevor Rockcliffe, Tony De Vit, Pete Wardman, Mrs Wood, Blu Peter, Ian M and many more.

I hope you enjoy the mixes - not all perfect, but it's about the music.
