Juicebox Music's 81st release sees fresh remixes by Jiminy Hop & EMPHI of Andrés Moris' iconic "The Story We Tell / The Choice" EP. With the originals releasing in the late autumn of 2023, it marked Andrés Moris' debut with the label. The Argentine native, now residing in Italy, created a special moment in his career with these two offerings and earned incredible support around the world, showcasing his perfect blend of emotional soundscapes and groove-focused rhythms.

We're excited to welcome back the incredibly talented Jiminy Hop to the fold after a long wait. His inaugural appearance on our imprint in 2021 through his single "Tension" as well as a monster 3-track EP featuring "Contemplation", "Desire" & "Summered" paved a path towards a rise in the progressive house fraternity. As one of the 3 members of the electronic band "Krasa Rosa", The Saint-Petersburg (Russia) resident has no boundaries towards his musical vision. Jiminy Hop's take on Andrés Moris' "The Story We Tell" pays homage to the spirit of the original track but his own style - expressing unique stories & visions through music.

To remix Andrés Moris' "The Choice", we called upon yet another member of our roster - the Swedish rising star - EMPHI. This marks his second appearance on Juicebox Music, with the first being an epic remix of Mike Rish's "Enter" in the fall of 2022. EMPHI's work continued to be represented by the industry's finest imprints from the likes of the iconic 'Balance', Hicky & Kalo's 'Plaisirs Sonores' and Mango's 'Mango Alley', earning a stead-fast rise of fans from listeners to DJs alike. EMPHI infuses his simplified but effective style into an updated rework of Andrés Moris' "The Choice".

'Gimmel' continues the story of Amesch. On the second page, RIGOONI brings a mesmerizing song that portrays the spiritual journey of seekers. 

It begins with repetitive arpeggios, symbolizing steady advancement. The ethereal vocals reflect our inner will, inviting us to move towards the evolution of our soul. Layers of synths add resilience and strength, while deep tones reflect desert introspection. 

The climax combines intense and explosive melodies, representing victory over difficulties. The track ends with echoing sounds, recalling the hidden beauty and the essence preserved since time immemorial.

Premiere: RIGOONI - Gimmel [Amesch]

It’s been a while since my last mix, but better late than never! This time, I start off slow with some ambient and electronica gems from artists like Soela, Luis León, Unseener, and Knopha. As the mix progresses, the energy builds with deeper house grooves from producers such as Kora (CA), Wuachuma, and Lis Sarroca, before diving into the sounds of legends like Sebastian Mullaert, Acid Pauli, Viken Arman, and Bushwacka.

In the middle and second half, things take a harder turn with heavier breakbeats and (melodic) techno from artists like Madben and Radio Slave. This mix captures the essence of an all-night set, condensed into a compact 4-hour journey featuring some of my favorite tracks from 2024.

South America Avenue Mixed End Of Year 2024 | Lucas Gomez (AR)

With the chatter of the art in the openening/warmup set being lost on the new generation, I thought I would put something gentle together. While this isn't exactly a dance floor opener, it does start to build just a bit as if it were. A softer, floaty mix of lovely tracks. Inspired by the rock solid YokoO, Kora and Satya records, the goal was a soft and consistent feel. Great for mornings, or really late nights.

I'm really a DJ, not a rapper, I just love hip hop and freestyling but my true passion is techno. I'm from Stratford, Ontario, born in Toronto. I'm stuck in London right now. Music is part of me, always has been, since I was too young to recall as my father was a professional musician so I grew up with it.
