Jonny godspeed and Karl Crook recently decided to bring Dusted back to Teesside. Dusted has been with out a doubt one of the most successful house nights to grace the North East of England (1997 - 2007), it's legendary nights have hosted some of the best names in house music and some very wild parties, all this with a amazing following of dedicated clubbers and music enthusiasts, we will be continuing dusted's good name and bringing the funk back home.

To continue where we left off after a well earned break having played nearly every weekend for 10 years we return to our spiritual home where it all started back in 1997 and where many had the nights of their lives - The Legendary Purple Onion now the Medicine Bar, Middlesbrough. Dusted set up and established the Purple Onion as a club and held the reigns for 8 glorious years before a 2 year residency at The CornerHouse and Rouge. Dusted policy was not about the guest DJ but establishing a solid resident base and the guest was the icing on the cake. The original Dusted residents have excelled in all aspects with Silky and Suzee X now playing out Internationally as well as releasing tracks, Karl Frampton setting us his Record label and Djing around Europe while Pete Smith has just become the resident for Sankeys along with several of his tracks being released. To continue the legacy as well as myself Jonny Godspeed we have brought in 2 new residents in the guise of Karl Goodo and Guy Smiley, two very key figures on the Teesside Dance scene. We are hoping these guys will lead Dusted on the road to glory again and we have every intention to make Dusted as great as it was in the day.

With regard to guest Dj's we are again not going for the obvious choices but inviting the Dj's who play what we want to hear and know how to party so expect some old faces and some new but do expect a party ! As John McGough always told me 'Walking into Dusted was liking walking into the devils lair, a sea of heads and hands moving to the music, hypnotic, lavish, sexy like the devils desciples, once you were in you couldnt get out' and why would you want to, Dusted always provided the best music !!

With all the above in mind from Saturday 18th February and every third Saturday of the month we bring you Dusted at The Medicine Bar, Middlesbrough, not for the faint hearted !!!

Guy Smiley

Electronic music is a passion that began in the 80's for Guy and has gone on to play a major role in his life to date with no sign of slowing down. Over the last sixteen year's Guy has promoted and played at a host of north east legendary club night's such as Pure ,The UN Experience, Rise, The Venue, Big Beat, and 1989 as well as a residency and outdoor festival in Leerdam, Netherlands and playing in Ibiza...

After setting up Passion in 2010 with close friend's, the night has gone from strength to strength recently celebrating it's first birthday. 2011 was probably Guy's best year to date, as well as Passion Guy also guested at Wiggle before ending the year as resident Dj at Hed Kandi in Middlesbrough at Medicine Bar warming up for the likes of Stephanie Jay and Jim Breeze....

Guy has also appeared regular on the popular Poolside Series pod-cast appearing alongside the likes of Artie Flexs. Mike van Loon, Maxine Hardcastle and The VOS Brothers to name all but a few as well as his popular House Trip mixes on Souncloud...

2012 is shaping up to be another great year with the new's that Guy has been added as a resident to the legendary Dusted night in Middlesbrough to re-launch in February, expect quality, funky house music...

Born2groove aka EUMusic aka Sound Info aka Karl'Goodo'Goodison has been into house music since 1984ish and started clubbing around '86 and never looked back.
Karl g started Djing around '92 in a mates bedroom then it took off in '96 were he was djing in local pubs.
Then he got his first residency @ the purple onion in Middlesbrough for the Dusted nights Djing with the likes of Rob Roar,Carlo Gambino and Karl Frampton and many others.He did that for a couple of years but also kept Djing all around the North east. Then Karl began to promote his own night 2Groove Sessions in Murreys bar Scarborough also for a couple of yrs, then he took a break but still helped out friends Djing. Then in 2002 Karl g started up House music production with 2groove Productions, then progressed into Born2groove where he started a new monthly at a brand new club Basement in boro were he tried to keep it underground with people like, Strakes (lostmydog records), Dj Frenchy(back2basics).
Karl'Goodo'Goodison also started Djing in Rouge in boro again for the Dusted crew(2009) then in '07 Karl got signed to a digital label Sidetrak Records and in 2010 signed and commissioned for 4 remixes to Good Voodoo Music .
Born2groove is a purveyor of house music to the needy and sleazy dance-floors.
He is available in DJ and producer formats.
DJ set's effortlessly fuses the best in House,Tribal and Tech since 1997.
Born2groove has been making dance-singles since 2004 and
signed to Sidetrak Records and Good Voodoo and gained much club and
Radio play with his other incarnations as EUMusic and Sound Info.
Currently working on various tracks recording at his (UK) home studio,
you can rely on a Born2groove record to ignite any dance-floor.
So things are looking bright for Karl'Goodo'Goodison / born2groove in the Future Of House…

The story so far…

For over 15 years Lee John has been involved in the music industry having worked his way up the notoriously difficult ladder of success to achieve credible DJ residencies at some of the biggest discotheques and club nights on the White Isle of Ibiza. For over 7 years now, Lee has most notably championed his technical and versatile house sound at San Antonio's busiest night 'Judgement Sundays', working alongside BBC Radio 1 veteran and long standing dance music pioneer, Judge Jules.

Fresh from the White Isle of Ibiza, Lee now has his bags packed to endure his second ‘3 month’ tour of Australia, working alongside the best artist management companies life down under has to offer. Over the next few months Lee will be gracing nightclubs with his kit bag of musical and technical talent, taking in roads from Sydney, Melbourne, The Gold Coast, Brisbane, Darwin, Cairns, Tasmania and even Dubai and New Zealand. 

In addition to Judgement Sundays weekly events for 2012, Lee locked down an ever increasing hectic diary, juggling various daily gigs and events. A must to see and hear, Lee graced the DJ booths of Es Paradis as all new Fiesta del Agua resident, Plastik Lounge, Pukka Up, Sleep When You’re Dead and Judgement Sunday boat parties, and all of this is only a fraction of what is crammed in to Lee’s hectic weekly summer schedule.

To accommodate, reflect the exercise the musical versatility of Lee's style, he also holds various residencies at some of the finer bars and lounges Ibiza has to offer. Including the well renowned bar/lounge experience of Plastik, where Lee is encouraged to exhibit a more groove based sound and funkier house edge to his already well equipped bow.

Having been involved in various events management projects, for many years Lee has been at the forefront of co-ordinating interior and exterior events around the UK. This has also lead to similar opportunities in and around Spain to Australia and even Thailand. Gaining promotional experience helps drive Lee as a DJ, fully understanding the logistics of marketing, branding awareness, preperation and running events.

Music has been a major part of Lee's life from a very early age where he played the drums for a strong 5 years, so when it came to music production, this was something that came quite naturally. From his early school days of studying drums and percussion to music production, Lee has now comfortably mastered the art and confidently has the ear for quality studio production. With various collaborations already under his belt, Lee has tracks such as 'Electric Love' signed to Skint/Loaded recordings with the follow up 'Cha Cha Cha' in negotiations and various others in the pipeline. David Dunn, is a DJ and Director of events company 'The Beat Boutique'. Originating from Middlesbrough in the north east of England, massively influenced by music growing up from Motown to Reggae and being a young impressionable boy when Hip Hop and House music was created he has been immersed from the beginning of both genres. Dj'ing out since 1996, his love of soulful/funky U.S House inspired mostly by legends such as Masters at Work, Derrick Carter, Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro and David Morales and vocalists such as India, Jocelyn Brown, Ann Nesby and Barbara Tucker are what inspired him to purchase his first set of turntables at the tender age of 13. Being a huge lover of Soul/Motown growing up, Hip Hop was obviously going to be his other passion. Early pioneers such as Rakim, Run DMC, A Tribe Called Quest followed by artists like Gangstarr, Notorious B.I.G and Wu-Tang made their way into his favourites list. He has been a presence for over 20 years on the north east bar/club scene as well as holding international residencies for worldwide brands such as Hed Kandi and Miss Moneypennies in Ibiza, Ayia Napa and mainland Spain. In November 2016 David started an events company 'The Beat Boutique'. The brand snowballed in its first year with bookings for everything from sport and fashion events to festivals, weddings and business exhibitions throughout the UK. His sets will tend to include everything from  soul/funk, hip hop/rnb to all things house, from soulful and uplifting, right through to the tougher deep sound often with a retro twist.
