Jarren Benton drops the first single and visual, “Slow Motion Intro,” for his upcoming mixtape, "Slow Motion, Vol. 2." Directed by Jakob Owens, the visual for “Slow Motion Intro” is simple and fun, yet artistic, and features former label mate DJ Hoppa on the cuts. 

On "Slow Motion Vol. 2", his first independent release since the demise of the record label Funk Volume, you’ll find Jarren’s signature rapid fire and witty bars with sneaks of substances with lines such as “used to sip a little syrup, until niggas start ending up dead/ they like you niggas as junkies, their agendas go over your head/love it when niggas just dancing and dumb, question the world, keep your hands on your gun.” On his most personal project to date, evidencing his continual evolution of growth as an MC and a human being, he also touches on the struggles of life on the road and the death of his friend/manager, and the project’s namesake, Slow Motion. 

"Slow Motion, Vol. 2" started off as a full LP before the Funk Volume split however project delays due to legal red tape as well as the addition of several features and collaborations left the finished project feeling more like a mixtape. In addition to placements by long time collaborators, Kato on the Track, M16, Justin Padron, 8 Track, and RocNMayne, the mix tape also includes tracks from producers Justice League, Statik Selektah, The Coalition, Analogic, and Matic Lee.
