El Guacho Del Ocho (Dragon Fly Remix)

The great singer, activist and soul sister Sandra Izsadore is back in the mix. She graced the international music stage on 1976's 'Upside Down' and has worked with  legendary artists Fela, Osibisa, Ginger Baker and many more. She influenced Fela to write about and focus on cultural matters of Africa, the Afro-Diaspora and human rights. She helped Fela conceive of Afro-Beat in 1969 in Los Angeles. Pleasuremaker wrote this song channeling Fela Kuti, Sandra and the history that tied this moment together as we face the most blatant disregard for human lives, human rights and for the struggle all people of color and poor and working class folks face all around the world each day. A new day is dawning, we must recognize where we have been and where we are at to ever truly make a brighter world.
This track highlights what is happening on earth right now in 2015 and has been an ongoing struggle for justice world wide.

Rarefactus é o primeiro trabalho autoral de corazón, o ponto de partida na busca do produtor Pablo Arruda Busetti por identidade sonora para o projeto. O EP, que conta com duas faixas ([Des] Congelando e P.D.C.), surge sem grandes pretensões conceituais predefinidas em meio a um turbilhão de mudanças e emoções que, num primeiro momento, eram nebulosas e amórficas na cabeça do autor, mas, que, ao decorrer do processo, foram assimiladas - ou não  -, tomaram forma e se revelaram, como um reflexo, na atmosfera das músicas. 

 Na prática, tal fonte atribui ao som camadas espessas, cria momentos densos e trilha com ânsia uma mudança de estado a fim de torná-lo, de uma vez por todas, rarefeito.

Seis años después del fallecimiento de Leda Valladares, y a casi dos de haber lanzado la convocatoria, Fertil Discos (Argentina) y Folcore (Barcelona) presentamos el tercer single de lo que será El Camino de Leda, un repaso por el cancionero que la gran música popular rescató del olvido, y que gana otra vida a partir de 12 temas grabados por una nueva generación de productores electrónicos y cantantes invitados.
Revisitar estos cantos desde la música electrónica es mucho más que agregarles una base: es buscar generar desde la nueva música y la tecnología, texturas y sonidos (muchas veces imposibles de lograr con instrumentos) que creen espacios diferentes para recibir esas voces, y también valerse de ritmos y cadencias que no sólo nos devuelven lo ancestral, sino que también lo vinculan a nuestra experiencia diaria en las ciudades modernas.
La clave afro incorporada por Tremor, las atmósferas psicodélicas de El Remolón, los coros de Shaman Herrera, las texturas ásperas y desarmadas de San Ignacio y la voz de Lauphan, el pulso industrial de Pol Nada... son sólo algunos de los ejemplos de un trabajo de investigación y reintepretación que busca y encuentra no tanto las características formales sino el sentimiento y la profundidad del canto con caja. Bárbara Silva, King Coya, Sofía Viola, Jin Yerei, Dat García, Jazmín Ezquivel, Barda, Celeste, Uji y Charo Bogarín (La Charo, de Tonolec) son los demás artistas que componen este proyecto, cuya edición digital se verá complementada por un vinilo doble, disponible desde el 1 de marzo de 2019.

Six years after Leda Valladares’ death, and almost two years after publishing our project, Fertil Discos (Argentina) and Folcore (Barcelona) present the third single of our coming album El Camino de Leda, revisiting the music she recorded and saved from being lost forever. 12 songs, recorded by electronic producers and guest singers, will bring her work and legacy back into life. 
Using electronic music in order to revisit these songs means much more than just adding a base to the vocals: it means to use new technologies to create textures and sounds (many times impossible to be created with instruments) that conform a new type of space to host the vocals, and also to use rythms and beats which not only bring us the ancestral music back, but also link it to our daily experience in the modern cities.
The afro percussions that Tremor used in their track, El Remolon’s psychedelic atmospheres, Shaman Herrera’s vocal works, the rough and deconstructed textures of San Ignacio and Lauphan’s song, Pol Nada’s industrial beat -are just a few examples of this project’s investigation and reinterpretation, which aims not only to reproduce the formal characteristics of the canto con caja, but also to find the emotions and the deepness involved in it. Bárbara Silva, King Coya, Sofía Viola, Jin Yerei, Dat García, Jazmín Ezquivel, Barda, Celeste, Uji y Charo Bogarín (La Charo, de Tonolec) are the rest of the artists involved in this project, to be published digitally, and available in vinyl from March, 2019.

Iniciamos o ano com um novo tema para a nossa TTR Radio, Signos. 
Começando o ano de 2019 sob influência do signo de capricórnio apresentamos o set do DJ e produtor Maco Maltauro de Itanhandu - MG, Brasil.

Em 2013 iniciou sua carreia com o objetivo de levar a cultura soundsystem em lugares públicos a fim de interagir com a cultura local de sua região trazendo para pista a raiz da Word Music, alinhada com batidas eletrônicas,  conduzindo o público a uma viagem sonora dançante. Maco também é fundador da festa Zona Zen.

Maco diz que a proposta desse set é se entregar, sem presa para o gozar, o ideal é ouvir em meio a natureza ou um local de paz, ele foi construído usando elementos étnicos- brasileiros e segue nos conduzindo a uma auto hipnose, ou seja, uma  viajem dentro de nossos próprios sentimentos.

The track experiments with Far Eastern soundscapes, reggae beats played on Chinese instruments, the erhu and guzheng, with vocals coming from the Indian singer Anuradha Genrich. Ever since [dunkelbunt]s headline concert at the BEANTOWN BACKYARD FESTIVAL in Bangalore (October 2018) a facination with India developed that began on the tour itself and continued to inspire on the journey home, with the original concepts for the songs ""Velavan"" and ""Ufos over Bengaluru"" (December 2018).

With her beguiling voice, Anuradha Genrich tells of the poetic deity VELAVAN, the patron of the Tamil language. She studied classical Indian music in Madras and in recent years has collaborated with numerous international musicians (Desert Dwellers, Cheb i Sabbah). Currently she resides in Vienna.

So the journey begins with the Indian Ocean moves over the Chinese Sea and finally lands in the Caribbean.

Con la participación Coral Herrera, autora, Doctora en Humanidades y Comunicación Audiovisual, especialista en teoría de género (feminismos, masculinidades, teoría queer) y Nuria Varela, escritora, experta en feminismo y violencia de género.

¿Qué tal si desterramos, de una vez por todas, al príncipe azul de nuestras vidas, o mejor dicho, de nuestros sueños? En este momento, mujeres de todo el mundo sufren por amor soñando con un modelo de hombre que no existe, con una pareja ideal como tabla de salvación. Gracias a la educación recibida, a la sociedad, a los cuentos de hadas, al cine de Hollywood, a la herencia religiosa, a un larguísimo etcétera han conseguido volvernos adictas a la droga del amor, al milagro romántico, a la satisfacción de esa utopía individual. Todos estos relatos parecen inocentes, pero en realidad no lo son. Como afirma Coral Herrera, al patriarcado le conviene que permanezcamos encadenadas a esta ilusión, porque mientras nos abracemos a ella, permaneceremos débiles y no volveremos la mirada hacia lo que verdaderamente importa: que las mujeres unidas, empoderadas en busca del bien común, pueden resultar muy peligrosas para el sistema.

Este libro es una invitación a sufrir menos y a disfrutar más del amor. Una invitación a que hombres y mujeres se deshagan de sus antiguos roles, de sus viejas penas y, con ilusión y rebeldía, avancen decididos hacia su libertad. Desembarazarse del mito del amor romántico no es fácil: conlleva un proceso lento, un viaje interior convulso, pero también apasionante. Porque no, las mujeres no somos sufridoras por naturaleza y sí, otras formas de amarse son posibles.

Please welcome the first edition of TTRaízes, our brand new series focusing on edits of Brazilian traditional music. For the grand opening, we invited our dear friend Pablo Arruda aka Corazón, bringing us 10 of his best original edits.

The idea behind the Corazón project is directly linked to the production of the edits in this release. In the attempt to find a different soundscape from the scene in which he was inserted at the time, the artist reached for Brazilian music in a way to form a unique setlist, bringing an original identity to the project.

Therefore, classical and significant music from Brazilian history were carefully selected and went through an experimental process, by studio or by live edits on stage, the songs started to be reconstructed under Pablo's unique vision.

Originally from Francisco Beltrão in Paraná, Brazil, Pablo is a musician, DJ, and music producer. Now based in Curitiba, he was a drummer for Audac, releasing an album produced by Gordon Raphael, known for his work on The Strokes' albums "Is This It" and "Room On Fire". He has performed at festivals such as Popload Gig in São Paulo, Meca Festival in Porto Alegre, and FARM/Picolé at Circo Voador in Rio de Janeiro. He began presenting DJ sets at James Bar, where he was a resident for four years. As a member of GATOPARDØ, he performed at Adhana Festival editions and has five releases under the record label.

Currently, he produces events with Portal Kirin, with Kirin Sets being the main project he's involved in.

This series will remain a hidden gem in our Bandcamp for obvious reasons. We will invite different artists with edits from different regions of the country, and each edition will come with exclusive and limited cassette tapes.
