Ever since we met these two guys from Geneva we instantly hit it off. Scott and Fred, aka The Tequila Boys, are the reason why disco is still alive. They host the monthly Gonzo Sport Club at Maison Balkii in Geneva as well as The Put On mix series on @noodsradio where we also had the chance to contribute. Last summer these cuties even made us a dream come true and invited us to play at the Montreux Jazz Festival. I'm sure most tracks that I play in Music From Mullets #18 sound familiar to you – but maybe just not in that version. You can travel to the farthermost corner of the world to find a cover version of Donna Summer's "State of Independence" or Level 42's "Lessons In Love".
Funnily enough seems like I'm sharing that urge to collect these #coverversions from all around the globe with Joachim Schiødt aka @boogie_rookie from Copenhagen. The uprising Danish dj sprinkled his set at our Ciao Amore Baci party with lots of cover gold. You can hear it in the second part of the show.

Antonio Lubrano, a seasoned radio sound engineer who embarked on his musical journey at the young age of 15 and became a resident DJ at prominent city clubs by the age of 18, has consistently harbored a passion for diverse non-commercial music. His DJ sets reflect a deliberate effort to introduce lesser-known sounds, injecting an element of unpredictability. Renowned as a "vinyl enthusiast" within the industry, Antonio has, in recent years, delved into the world of collecting rare records, sourcing gems from the Italian and European underground scenes spanning the 70s, 80s, and even the 90s—acquiring them through both online platforms and eclectic flea markets.

In 2022 Antonio, alongside collaborator Daniele Giustra, proudly co-founded "Disco Tic." This innovative project showcases the art of back-to-back performances exclusively on vinyl, with a focus on 45s featuring the distinctive Italo-disco sound. The duo has given life to a vibrant SoundCloud channel under the same name, featuring meticulously curated mixtapes crafted by DJs and selectors from across the globe. This platform serves as a testament to their commitment to promoting and preserving the rich legacy of underground music.
