The Prodigal Son returns to the label from whence his debut record was released. Live Ones have known Lorca for some 6 years, and seen/heard his sound evolve since their last encounter, back in the heady days of 2010. A lot has changed since, but it seems Lorca’s knack for a melodic hook is impervious to erosion from the sands of times- The tunefully delicate “All My Love” is a testament to the fact.

As the EP title would suggest, this Premiere is one of four odes to the late great prince of soul, Eddie Kendricks. Textures of some of Eddie’s hottest hits are woven throughout every cut, each brushed with a different stroke of Lorca’s artistry. Like one of The Temptations, “All My Love” fits like a glove into one of their infamous purple suits, dripping with pizzazz and swag - finger snapping and swaying for a full four minutes of soulful joy.

Safe Trip is taking one final deep dive into the warm waters of Italian dream house with Welcome To Paradise Volume 3, the concluding chapter in the label’s journey through the previously overlooked world of one of dance music’s most vibrant and influential underground movements.

While the influence of dream house continues to echo through the ages, the style was at its peak between 1989 and ’94, when producers across Italy delivered a high volume of loved-up, wavy and occasionally blissful productions that fused contemporary deep house tropes – most notably from Chicago, New York and New Jersey – with elements borrowed from ambient, jazz and Balearica.

It’s this six-year period that provides the focus for Welcome To Paradise Volume 3, which draws together a spine-tingling mixture of sought-after classics, unheralded gems and little-known delights from the original Italian dream house movement.

Thrillingly, Welcome to Paradise Volume 3 co-curator Young Marco has managed to source two previously unreleased tracks during the dream house period: the gently unfurling, sunrise-friendly bliss of Jacy’s “Resounding Seashell” and a special “Longer Edit” of Neurostate’s brilliant “Dance To The House”, a track that – somewhat surprisingly – has never previously been issued on vinyl before.

Elsewhere, there are plenty of treats to set the pulse racing, from the must-have deep house brilliance of Leo Anibaldi’s “Universe” – a rare foray into dream house territory from the Italian techno pioneer – and the Afro-bleep-goes-dream-house trip of Golem’s “Sun City”, to the cowbell-driven, New Jersey garage-influenced warmth of Deep Choice’s “Children Trip” and Cosmic Galaxy’s “Walkin’ On The Moon”, a Detroit techno-influenced outing with a deliciously saucer-eyed, extended ambient intro. You’ll also struggle to find a more inspired house record than Green Baize’s “Tramp Heart”, which mixes familiar dream house elements with spacey electronics and tribal chants that recall Italy’s early ‘80s Afro-cosmic scene.

It all adds up to another essential selection of rich, glassy-eyed dream house treats tailor-made for sound-tracking drawn-out Adriatic sunsets, Mediterranean sunrises and loved-up parties the world over.

Starting slowly with enticing clinking and tinkering as percussive instruments find their melodic feet, ‘Lamantin’s Dream’ is pure elegance. A delicate dance is performed as the notes catch their balance above groovy basslines and lo-fi undertones. The track creates heartwarming, on-top-of-the-world, bubbly daytime house rave energy and it is or pleasure to share this with you. 

Russian native, Anton Bogomolov aka Scruscru is back at it following his super successful ‘Romantik EP’ released on Minor Notes Recordings in 2018. Scruscru liberates listeners with soulful experimental beats and an array of notes, keys and sounds that come together with a glorious garage beat brewing just underneath the surface. Tranquil vocals lace the 2-step school house beat. It is safe to say, this records has been released at the perfect time of year, with its bouncy twinkling uplifting musical emotions, this EP will no doubt be forming part of my summertime playlist. 

Certified by none other than the exotic rhythm-seeking, Nomada Records, fresh out of Colombia. Church as an outlet have always ensured they are pushing the boundaries of dance and electronic music, while retaining their melodic and jazz-infused sound at their core. This has historically come in the form of fantastically crafted sampled pieces incorporating various live elements; this time though, they offer up @AuraSafari, a fully fledged band with a full sumptuous LP for your listening pleasure.

Aura consists of, Alessandro Deledda, Andrea Moretti, Lorenzo Lavoratori, Daniele Melloni and Nicholas Iammatteo. The band started with the meeting of a musician and a group of dj's and producers coming from different musical backgrounds and generations. Aura Safari is the union of various musical eras and influences such as jazz fusion, 80's boogie, world music, Italo house, balearic beats and jazz funk. 

We're lucky enough to feature 'Island Life', the most dance-floor friendly track on the LP. Pure island feels emanate from the tracks soul, with soft yet vibrant tones riding on the back of the swung and dusty stonk which anchors this cut to the shore.

“When 2 Bodies Become 1” treads a fine line between raucous deep-house, balearic blues and straight-up sexy music. The opener “Raw Loop” channels classic Pepe Braddock vibes while “Moving Day” sounds like it could’ve come from the sonic experiments of a certain 90s house producer who loves to play keyboards. Lukas is a musician and singer first, which really shows on the flip side of the record – something which Mano Le Tough & Jimpster were very happy to support on a recent release for Clouded House.“Strange Beast” marries off-kilter chorus-kissed guitar riffs with a driving four-to-the floor arrangement while “2 Bodies Become 1” takes a step further away from house music to combine vintage new-order textures and shuffling deep-house. Lukas also builds digital synthesizers in his spare time, something which must’ve come in handy for “Bike Ride With U” an italo-banger closing out the record and sporting a very rubbery bassline. SKYLAX 150  - A1.Lukas Lyrestam "Raw Loop"

The Mars Stumble was written in a haze. Stuck in an apartment for a forth day straight. Seeing and hearing planes fly overhead into the pink and purple sky. It felt otherworldly. We were transported and wanted to go further. 
The song was written as an escape, we were dreaming of a more ideal space to be in. Whilst looking ahead we also looked back, tonally there is a lot of influence from our predecessors. Mid 90's rave and electronic influence, breaks and Korg M1 Organs.  By the end of the track the haze has ascended and a feeling of exultation has been restored.
