As we build toward the release of Lewis’ debut album on Soma, we drop a hard-hitting first single in Binary. Stripped and heavy Lewis really shows us what his productions are made of. We also welcome Spanish Techno legend Oscar Mulero as he delivers a rasping remix of Binary. This release is not for the fain of heart.

Oscar Mulero’s remix opens the EP. Oscar hardens up the track even more and takes the main synth elements giving them more space and really working them. He strips the track back more but without losing any of the pure grit that this track is made of. Hypnotic rhythms bounce of each other culminating in one almighty drop. Oscar has really layered this perfectly and given this is own unique take.

The original of Binary pops up on the flip with deep, thudding drums and a killer synth hook that pings through as shattering hi hats disturb the peace and help to build the track slowly. Lewis creates great rhythm through the use of the percussive elements of the synth stabs, opening filters and bending LFOs to build the tension. 

We await Lewis’ debut, The Gare Album, with bated breath…

Next up to release on Vakant is CW/A aka Clockwork and Avatism and their new 'Conducting the Method' EP is set to drop on September 29. 

There are three original tracks and one remix on the EP and we have a premiere of perhaps the darkest cut to be released. 'Modern Conflict Theory' is a moody-warehouse techno jam that stuns and excites as soon as the first kick-drum hits.

Perfect for injecting some energy into an early-morning slot, you need to check this.

Originally released in 1994, ‘Internal Empire’ marks a point of transition for Robert Hood moving on from his previous collaborations within Underground Resistance. Robert Hood advanced uncovering the power of true minimalism. Deep soul through a simplicity that showed how much could be done with so little. The devastating rhythms of this album forge the unmatched spirit of this sound, influencing generations to come.

"25 years ago, I was faced with the challenge of following up on 'Minimal Nation’. I cancelled all my tour dates for that summer, setup my studio in the living room and began to work on 'Internal Empire'.  My intention was to create something distinctively different. Thirty years after its original release in West Berlin, Tresor Records is glad to present a re-mastered and re-cut edition of TV Victor’s legendary debut album Moondance.
TV Victor, one of Tresor’s spearhead artists since the label’s very first hour, is an alias of Udo Heitfeld. In 1989, TV Victor launched his first solo project under the form of Moondance. He then went on to compose legendary ambient and trance productions including Trance Garden 1-3, Trancecology Chapter 1 , Timeless Deccelaration and The Ways Of The Bodies.
TV Victor collaborated with other artists such as Moritz von Oswald, Thomas Fehlmann, Max Loderbauer, Paul Browse or Tobias Freund, amongst many others.
From the liner notes: “These songs are an invitation to your consciousness. Moondance is the sound of your aware body. The moon is the place where your body realizes consciousness. Floating and dancing is the way people come together. A dierent kind of gravity, a dierent state of mind and electricity between man and woman makes it alive. Find your own moon.”

After more than two decades of behind the scenes collaboration Juan Atkins & Moritz von Oswald present Borderland - their debut collaborative album to be released this summer on Tresor Records.

The album - made up of 8 sequences, which seamlessly blend the styles of both masters - was recorded at the beginning of 2013 over various studio sessions in Berlin and will be released as a series of three 12"s and a CD album. Limited to 500 units, pressed on heavy vinyl and packed in hefty sleeves, the three part vinyl series, gathers all but one title present on the CD format. 

Together with a series of live shows debuted in May at MUTEK festival, with follow-ups in Berlin, Amsterdam, London, Paris - the record gives common voice to two independent yet mutually supporting musical journeys, achieving a singular expression of club-orientated electronic music and the freedom of organic musical experimentation.
