Jikan ga nai - The man who tells the trains

Pain noir  is the solo project of Brooklyn-based composer Eric Cosentino. It is a sort of an attempt, a collage made possible by endless questions and old-fashioned  technologies like guitars, analog synthesizers and expensive little boxes. The purpose is to generate images by playing with contexts and elements. cut, paste, cut, paste. loop, loop, loop. Reverse? Sometimes it's working. Repetition? repetition.

Influences, to name a few: Robert Fripp, Emile Cioran, Tortoise, John Coltrane, Slayer, Alain Bashung, Bukowski, Angus Young, Fugazi, Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley, Adrian Belew, politics, Nina Simone, Led Zeppelin, Hermann Hesse, Alan Wilder, Nels Cline, Anselm Kiefer,  John Perkins, Improvisers and the ideas of Brian Eno.
